What Do You Deserve?

WE USUALLY GET WHAT WE DESERVE

Back when I was gambling professionally, it seemed like everyone had an opinion on which casino was rigged. I never really thought that, but I also didn't really think that I was winning as much as I was supposed to. To test this, I recorded every single session I played for over a year. Guess what? I was within a fraction of one percent from where I was supposed to be statistically. I learned that not only were the casinos not rigged, I wasn't very good at mentally aggregating lots of independent events. I think that in real life, we all have a natural inability or unwillingness to accept that we generally receive what we deserve. Before I get into this, though, I'll say that it definitely isn't true all of the time. I offer the idea here just a useful tool and framework, not to pass judgement. For example, I know people who have lost close family members, people who have been raped, and people who have been affected by other horrible things. I don't think that they deserve those things or earned them in some way. I think they're an unfortunate side effect of the chaos and variance of life, which is otherwise a good thing. When I was around twenty, I knew for a fact that I would become rich by the age of twenty-five. Twenty five was really old and I knew that I was special, so it made perfect sense to me that I'd be rich by then. I put in a moderate amount of effort, and made moderate progress towards my goal, but didn't really even come close! When I turned twenty five, I was at least a little bit surprised that I wasn't a millionaire yet. I'm still not a millionaire, but I'm not surprised about it anymore. I've seen people work harder than me and work smarter than me and become rich. I've seen the dedication it takes, and I've seen how that compares to what I have typically put in.

I think I've gotten about what I deserve.

I've done some interesting things, worked hard some of the time, and have made enough money to support a simple lifestyle that I like a lot. Strange path, but it seems about right to me. Last year I spent two months getting back into pickup. I knew it would be hard, but in the back of my head I thought, "Hey, I'm a pretty awesome guy and I used to be really good a this. I bet it's going to go really well." It went okay, which is probably what you'd expect when you balance those positive with the negatives of me being rusty, naturally introverted, and in full on hermit-programmer mode. On a more positive note, I think I do a pretty good job of being positive and treating people well, and when I think of how lucky I am to have such great friends and family, I think that I've again gotten what I deserve.

HERE IS A CONTEST TO GET WHAT YOU DESERVE...

              GREAT CONTEST HUH?

You can adopt this mindset and think of it in a few different ways. The harsh reality is that if something in your life isn't where you want it to be, it's most likely your fault. We're all dealt a different set of cards, and I think that most of us are old enough now that we've been given a chance to do something with them. So if you were born poor and haven't put in enough effort to make money, I think it's time to stop blaming your upbringing and start taking responsibility. Of course, if you were born poor, are still poor, and don't care, that's totally fine, too. You got what you deserved and you're happy with it.

UNLEASH THE POWER WITHIN

UNLEASH THE POWER WITHIN
Mention the name “Anthony Robbins” to someone and you will get a variety of comments, looks, glares, smiles, praises, misconceptions. Google his name and well, go ahead and do it if you haven’t already. Even on our TradeSmartU forums I remember when Josh first announced the possibility of putting together a package for our TSU family to attend the event in LA, that there were some negative comments about Mr. Robbins. After doing my own research, I find that there are more people that have good things to say about him than bad. The most common thread seems to be that if you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend a “live” seminar, that one ought to embrace the opportunity with an open heart and mind. That is exactly what my wife and I plan on doing next week.
(My wife drew this picture in honor of Mr. Robbins.) I have never really been a big fan of events like this but we are stepping out of our comfort zone for a number of reasons. I have quite a little library of motivational CDs, books, cassettes and even VCR tapes from Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Og Mandino, Dale Carnegie as well as Mr. Robbins, just to name a few. I have never had the desire to walk on fire. I do have a relationship with the One who walked on water and I don’t see why there would be any conflict of interest. I think most of us in the TSU family have the desire to live a fuller more rewarding life, and I’m not talking about money. I’m talking about personal happiness. The happiness that comes with setting goals and achieving them. The happiness that comes with meeting and having a relationship with your “better half.” The happiness that comes with starting a family and nurturing your children into responsible adults. The happiness that comes with having your daughter’s little girl look at you with wide-eyed innocence and say “I love you, Grandpa!” The happiness of planting little seeds in the ground and watering them and caring for them then enjoying the fruit of your efforts with your family. The happiness that comes with sharing the abundance of your blessings with those who are not as fortunate. The happiness that comes with being honest and faithful.

What do all these things have to do with going to LA next week? I think that we all walk a fine line, we like our privacy, we like our comforts, we like our nice cars and cool new smart phones, we like having Google puts when it’s getting hammered, we like having Apple calls when it’s trending upward. We like staying in our “comfort zone.” I believe that what I have received from all of the self help books and audio recordings that I have used is that sometimes we have to get out of our comfort zones and experience life. That we have to take a chance. We have to make decisions to change the things that need to change and to make true changes that are lasting and consistent. We need to take that first step, to reach out and say something nice to someone we don’t know. We need to be available to help other people less fortunate than us. We need to be available, emotionally & physically to whatever greater good we may be called for. Nothing ventured nothing gained, much will be required of the person to whom much is given.
He who wants the rose, must respect the thorns.

We are looking forward to the Unleash the Power Within event because we want to grow, we want to meet and get to know better the TSU family that I am connected with every single day online. We want to set new goals and achieve them. We want to know how to use pleasure and pain instead of just enduring pleasure and pain. We want to experience things we never dreamed of  experiencing, we want to know people like us who we’ve never met before. We want to be successful, healthy, happy, safe and secure. We want to be focused and direct our focus positively to have complete control of our lives. We want to be better human beings, more loving, more caring, more hopeful, more faithful. We want to boldly go where we have never been before and we hope to see you there.

TRAFFIC SECRETS

SECRETS FOR GETTING TRAFFIC

You hear this word a lot online when it comes to Marketing. Unfortunately, far too often the “secrets” you read about are nothing more than well known techniques that perhaps only YOU have never heard of. I’m proud to say, what I claim to be secrets I share are just that; secret methods on how to build your online business, and get ahead of your competition, and save yourself a ton of money in the process. There’s no way to do it completely free, for the old adage is correct; “It takes money to make money”, but I’ve given you a short cut that will keep most of your dollars in your pocket. As a matter of fact, I even include a proven, time tested method on how to help fund your business . These are very exclusive tips, and Wayne Sharer’s SEO videos are a great example. I’ve actually asked around about some of his techniques, and I was quite surprised how many marketers were unaware of them. To me, that makes his program a true “secret” of Internet Marketing.
Another fantastic example is Jamie Lewis’ program. While it is not free, and to some it may seem a little expensive, it’s an awesome lesson on how to save you a small fortune from future mistakes. Another one of Jamie Lewis’ programs, is an advance lesson where he will actually work with you one-on-one and immediately produce income with you via a web-cast! These programs are a remarkable foundation in which you can build your online business, and it’s told to you in very simplistic form, which is critical in order to avoid “information overload” and confusion. Jamie is very down to earth, and has the fruit-on -the tree when it comes to his success. Again, much advice online is labeled “secrets”, when most are mere “tips”. These programs are far-and-away true secrets of the trade. As far as tips go, I’m not going to take up a bunch of pages on this, for woven through this entire series of blogs are tips, principles, and secrets, but I will offer this one piece of advice; You cannot make a million dollars without making one dollar first. I realize that sounds like a “DUH” statement, but it is far more relative than you realize. It's too easy for one to surf around the Internet and see opportunities everywhere – often becoming confused. Many opportunities cost money to join, and promote (other than the free techniques outlined in this book). At first, don’t work on too many opportunities at once. When you have one business generating an income, then you can expand to others. I know many people will disagree with this, but it is a simple Internet Marketing “tip” that is not often shared. Focus all of your time and energy on ONE niche/business at a time. UNLESS it is a business like “Easy Money Method” that has three great businesses tied together in a single system, along with a marketing funnel that goes along with it. I have to tell you however, that type of business is a rarity! That word “Focus” is very underrated in online marketing. I see so many people doing so many things, it’s hard for them to keep track of them all. This is silly to me, as it is better to do one thing "great" then many things "fair" in my opinion. If the primary business/niche you choose is not growing properly, then you can focus on another. On the same token however, don’t start a business/niche, promote it for three days, and then decide it doesn’t work. That’s not what I’m talking about.
Successful entrepreneurs (or “cyberprenuers”) are in it for the long haul, and they start with the end in mind. They work toward their vision of what they want their business to become. That is why, at the beginning of these blogs I talked about dreams and your reasons why you want a successful online business. You need to see your business already successful in your mind.

THERE ARE NO SECRETS TO WORK

Take some time to decide exactly what you want your business to be over the next 5, 10, even 20 years. Then set aside time, every day, to visualize the mental picture of your success. This falls directly inline with the “Law of Attraction” and most successful Internet Marketers know the power of practicing this technique. Whenever you choose a business, you must keep a vision of what you want it to become clearly in focus. With this insight, it makes daily decision-making much easier. After all, with a clear-cut vision of what you want your business to become, you can always ask yourself, “Will this action move me closer to creating the success I’m visualizing?” If the answer is “yes”, you know you can move forward confidently. Well, in order to avoid “information overload” like I mentioned, I think that will do it for this ebook. Naturally, there are many more aspects to Internet Marketing, and we have scratched but the surface, however this is a VERY good introduction for you to begin your “Internet Marketing Internship”. These techniques and principles will help you begin to realize the amazing potential that lies within you, and the power of the Internet, to turn your goals and dreams into reality. Is there work involved? Absolutely. Are your aspirations worth it? Only you have the answer to that. These blogs are merely a guide to get you started, and if you have been in Network Marketing for a while and have hit a slump, it is meant to get your creative juices flowing again. To recap: Check your mindset daily! JOIN OUR  MINDSET & PROSPERITY CALLS HERE JUST DO IT! (To quote Nike). Start brainstorming and thinking of all the ways you can get your message out, respectfully, and without spamming (because no one likes that, and it is completely counter-productive). Brush off the ones who think what you’re doing is a scam, or if they are not interested. Let it go. There will always be someone who is looking for exactly what you have, and you will find them, you just have to dig deep, and NEVER stop digging!

Success Manual HERE!

Never give up! Never quit! Never surrender your dreams and aspirations; they are true possessions in the ever-changing ocean of life. Never let go of them! As you can see you have opened an entire world through these pages… I sincerely hope you follow your heart and implement these teachings. I believe you were not led here by accident… you were meant to read every word. Of course, I cannot guarantee your success, for alas…it is up to you. Ultimately, it depends on how big your “why” is, and rests solely on your actions and determination. I can tell you however; if you refuse to let go of your dreams, and fight with every ounce of your being for their existence, they will happen. Just remember, define your “why”, and never look back. And, if you follow these lessons, techniques, and instructions, I’ll bet dollars to dimes you find yourself on a crystal-clearbeach one day thinking to yourself; “I’m sure glad I don’t have to work that job for another 30 years!” Remember, life is too short to accept mediocrity. It is far too brief to live in quiet desperation, and not live up to one’s full potential. After all, we never know how much sand we have left in the hourglass. I leave you on this personal note; In 2007 I lost my best friend…he was only 50. I think of him often. Recently, a song came over the radio as I was driving home from a ball game that we used to go to that says it all: “As the cold wind blows across the graveyard I think I hear… the voice of my old friend whisper in my ear; I’m gonna stop looking back, and start moving on, and learn how to face my fears. Love with all of my heart, and make my mark, I wanna leave somethin’ here. I’m going out on a ledge, without any net, that’s what I’m gonna be about; I wanna be runnin’ when the sand runs out.” ~ Rascal Flatts God bless you…and may He bless all you hope to achieve.

FisCal Cliff Economics Part 2

Put Down the Spliff: Marijuana Farms are Ravaging the Environment

Unregulated pot farming is having disastrous effects on California's natural habitats.

No one wants this kind of news, but here we are. Under-the-radar pot farms in California are having dire consequences on the environment and state law enforcement's hands are tied when it comes to doing anything about it.
But it’s a plant! How can it possibly be bad for the Earth? In and of itself, it’s not. But as an unregulated industry, some of the techniques used are sucking the life out of our waterways, killing our forests and poisoning our soil.
Though growing pot under California state law is legal, under federal law, it is most certainly not. That’s why growers—usually those with substantial harvests—burrow into the forests to grow their crops under cover from federal agents.
According to OnEarthmassive amounts of rodenticide are used by forest-dwelling farmers in counties like Humboldt and Mendocino. Because those crops can’t be fenced in or otherwise protected from area wildlife, farmers dump large amounts of rodent and pest-killing poisons around the plants to ensure their safety.
Mourad Gabriel, a Northern California wildlife disease ecologist, toldOnEarth the effects of those chemicals are already having alarming results on area wildlife populations, the nearby Hoopa reservation, and the forest’s ecosystem.
Gabriel has discovered abandoned grow sites with as much as 90 pounds of rodenticide left behind, which is almost enough to wipe out about 12,000 deer mice, 1,500 wood rats, and other forest creatures. And that’s not even counting what all that chemical waste is doing to nearby waterways, which are already seeing the effects on fish populations crucial to the area.
MotherJones also reports that some farmers are engaging in forest clearing and the illegal diversion of streams.
But perhaps most frustrating is that state agencies are caught in a weird bureaucratic purgatory that’s keeping them from doing anything to regulate these farms.
State agents can’t shut down marijuana farms because they’re not illegal under state law. But they are illegal under federal law. The feds have already warned state policy makers and law enforcement agents that should they do anything to try to regulate the activity of pot-growers, it would be viewed essentially an act of aiding those farmers who are committing a federal offense. Aiding someone committing a federal offense is serious, and California officials report they were already told they would face personal federal prosecution should it be discovered that they were regulating any pot-farming activity.
There is a small avenue of consequence for growers who are caught doing things like altering waterways, but legally, those are only misdemeanors and so serve no real purpose in hindering the activity.
In the meantime, for the thousands of Californians who frequent medical dispensaries, they’re not without options. Much like how many of us buy our food today, choosing to purchase locally-sourced marijuana which is grown with organic techniques can make all the difference.

So Is That The Reason for the Fiscal Cliff?

The entrprenuial pot farmers don't want the government involved in marijuana farming. The cartels or any organized crime organizations don't want the government in the marijuana industry. The paper companies the distilled spirits and tobacco companies don't want the government involved in the pot business at all. That means that there is an awful lot of money to be made that these others won't make if the government got involved in the marijuana business.

Winner or Whiner WHO ARE YOU?

Are You a Winner?

Please take a minute and get up from where you are and go look in the bedroom or bathroom mirror. What do you see? Yeah I know it's the same old story about being positive, but you know what? If it is the same old story to you... Tell you what, I'm a gambler.I'm willing to bet that if you DIDN'T get up and look in the mirror, it's because you are not REALLY happy with what's staring back at you.    I don't mind if you get a little angry at me. But if you are angry, maybe you'll do something about that image you see in the mirror.

Are you unhappy about your bank account or your balding hairline? Do you like your job, your spouse, your home? How about your attitude? Are you a little grumpy about things? I've been there. I won't go back there again, I can assure you of that. Are you looking to make some changes in your life? Do you have what it takes to be the person you want to be? Or are you afraid you may ruffle a few feathers? Worried that your friends will say that"you've changed"?       I used to have a friend that lived his entire life saying negative things about anyone, anything, anyplace. I never could understand why he was so negative about life in general. He always complained about his job, which by the way he was very good at. He complained about his health, which was pretty good except of course for the pack of cigarettes he smoked every day and the cocaine he snorted on "special occasions". When we were in our teens, he used to say he was going to get married and have 5 kids. He never did. He traveled all around the country, went to Mardi Gras, The Super Bowl, The World Series. He was a natural leader, a talented chef and he used to tell everybody that I was his best friend. He died at 50 years old of cancer. He always wanted to be a winner. He could of accomplished anything and everything he wanted in life. I believe he didn't because of his negative attitude. I believe cancer killed him because of his negative attitude. He used to make fun of anyone who ever stepped out of their comfort zone and tried to do something to improve their life, their love, their circle of influence. He never bought a home, he never had a wife, he never had children, he was never really happy. He did have a lot of people who loved him in spite of his negative approach to life. He was a lovable curmudgeon but he was my friend and as I sit here watching Miami Dolphins football like we used to, I'm thinking about how he thought everything was a scam and that the only way to do things were his way.

Sammy was a Winner

We had another friend that stepped  out of his shadow/comfort zone  and became very successful in sales/marketing. He was an introvert who at an early age became consumed with success that he worked and worked and worked until he was being driven around in limos and living in the lap of luxury. He wanted things, and he got them all. He is a winner , no ifs ands or buts about it! After he got all the things he thought he wanted, he found out all he really wanted to do was sing and play the guitar. Now that he acquired all the things he thought would please him, he retired at 38 years old to sing and play the guitar. It's a good thing that he was awesome at sales and marketing!!! I too have taken the road less traveled and have gone on to live the type of life I desire and have the things my friend always talked about having and doing when we were in our teens, I have 2 sons, I have 2 grandchildren and another on the way! I have owned several homes, I have owned several businesses, I have even been married  several times. I have failed miserably and I have succeeded tremendously. I have made money and I have lost money, an awful lot of money !  I write today not to compare how going down different roads or more importantly having different attitudes have brought about different results. I mention him today because I miss him. I wish he was here to share in my success with me. To share my life, my grandchildren, my positive attitude with someone I loved would be awesome. Our birthdays were in December. Mine the 22nd, his the 24th. It was our tradition to go out and celebrate on the 23rd. No Matter What.

The POINT is are you a winner or a whiner??? The choice is yours to make!

If I had to do it all over again, I would of spent more more time being with a winner than being with a whiner. I love him dearly but at my age I'd rather be spending my free time on singing lessons.  The choice is always yours to make. I admonish you to choose being a WINNER!!!

INTERNET MARKETING Pt 3

Marketing Is A Numbers Game

The first thing you need to know about marketing  is it’s a numbers game. You’d be surprised how many people really don’t know what I mean by that. Let’s look at your local car dealer for a good example: Your local auto dealer sends out thousands of mailers, flyers, and coupons not to mention television and radio advertisements to attract customers to their lot. All of these methods are marketing, and all of these techniques have funding allotted to them. The first thing the marketing director knows is that not every flyer will bring in a customer. They realize that not every commercial will cause someone to jump in their car and race down to the dealership to buy another car, whether they need it or not. They know only a percentage of people will ever receive their advertisements, and only a percentage of those people will read or pay attention to the coupons or commercials, and only a percentage of those people will ever go to their dealership and buy a new car. Does this discourage them? No. They do a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly marketing blitz and realize that they will reap a percentage of what they sow. So it always amazes me when Internet Marketers barely try to market their product and get discouraged when only a trickle, or no traffic, comes their way. It’s a numbers game. This means you have to do the NUMBERS! You have to advertise (marketing) your product or opportunity in every single fashion you can possibly think of both on and off the Internet in order to bring in customers/associates in ratio to the amount of advertising you produce.

Make sense? It is the same thing whether we are talking about cars or groceries or pizza pies or...well I think you get the picture. It’s remarkable how many people become despondent and quit because they placed ten ads on a free classified site, and nobody got into their business. They throw their hands up and claim; “I knew it wouldn’t work” after they post their opportunity an additional three times on Facebook and nothing happens.
[caption id="attachment_154" align="aligncenter" width="259" Can you imagine how many flyers your local supermarket sends out on a weekly basis to people who have no intention on shopping there? Do they throw their hands up and claim; “What’s the use, they won’t buy anything”. No! They flood the mailboxes and airwaves across the city/town and take what they can get. That’s effective MARKETING, and it’s exactly what YOU need to do when advertising online. Flood the internet with your opportunity (and no, I don't mean spam, there are many ways to do it without going there) and a percentage of the traffic you generate will either buy or get in business with you. It’s that simple! No need to complicate it. No need to get all caught up in the “but what if they don’t join” or “what if I advertise and no one buys?”

If that’s the case, you need MORE MARKETING!

Work harder! Think of more and effective ways to get your opportunity or product in front of the masses until you get the results you are looking for! If you practice this, your momentum will be such that customers and associates will be running to catch up with you! Remember, no one wants to get on a train that isn’t going anywhere, they only want to get on board when you’re moving SO GET MOVING AND KEEP MOVING! This leads to yet another problem I see far too often in Internet Marketing people not getting the results they want because they have not put in the time and effort to do so, and then they become desperate to market their opportunities (through spam methods etc.). This is a near epidemic in social media sites such as Facebook. Nobody likes desperation. Moreover, people can smell it! If you give the slightest hint of being desperate (desperate for new customers, desperate to recruit, desperate to make money etc.) no one will follow you. No one will join you, even if the opportunity you are promoting is amazing ! You MUST give off an aura of expertise and confidence, even when you’re not confident, and don’t know what the heck you’re doing! This is critical! Nothing will kill your business and your spirits quicker than desperation! How do you deliver such a presence? You focus on your “why”, listen to motivational material, read positive affirmation books, and WORK, WORK, WORK! See how it all ties together? When your mind starts to slip back into; “I guess my job isn’t that bad” remember this formula. Make it a habit to improve yourself daily and you will begin to see the results you are looking for.

Never forget success in Marketing is all about numbers, numbers, NUMBERS!

Marketing Success

Internet Marketing Success Depends on UNWAVERING POSITIVE ATTITUDE

I know what you’re thinking; “Not another pep-talk… the last thing I need is a cheerleader.” You might even be rolling your eyes as you say it. I know how you feel. This is the area in which I struggled most. I had such a serious case of “stinkin’ thinkin’ that it’s amazing I ever got out of bed in the morning, let alone became successful at anything. So rooted was my negativity, that when I first started Network Marketing (long before the Internet) I looked for all the ways I could be successful without being positive! Pathetic, huh? The reason I felt that way is I looked at the statement “Be positive” to be an empty gesture, meant to pick you up when I was down, and to be honest, when I was being negative, I didn’t want to be positive! Make sense? Also, it seemed like such a hassle to be positive all the time. In my mind, I thought I’d be the first one who ever got rich being a negative, mean old bastard! Over twenty five years ago, I was shown how to change my thinking, but I didn’t really see the value in “Positive Mental Attitude material. I figured reading self -help books, and keeping positive was simply a way of making you feel better if things weren’t going right. So, if you were losing, they made you feel “OK” about it, and I didn’t like that. I didn’t want to feel “OK” about losing, I wanted to win, I wanted to be a success, and I didn’t need a bunch of “rah-rah” books to help me do it. I figured if things weren’t going right, I should face them, not hide behind some pages, or some motivational cassette tapes. My mother would get Norman Vincent Peale pamphlets and pass them on to me along with her daily prayers, but I was acquiring quite a drinking problem at the time that I usually only read them in the bathroom recovering from my daily hangover. I thought it to be a facade, nothing more than a phony attempt to deny and ignore things weren’t all that great in any given area in my life. I could hold a job but relationships never lasted long. I think back now that I dated some of the smartest and  prettiest girls, that went on to good lives and careers, but I was a success at sabotaging anything good that ever came my way. After a few DUI's and learning that you "don't know what you've got till it's gone", I figured there must be a better way. Then, after some jail time and 386 straight days of working at it, I learned the true importance of being positive. It’s not an act Ladies and Gentlemen… it’s the KEY!

The Key To Success

The KEY to living an abundant life instead of just existing on this planet with the billions of other creatures we must co-exist with. It is literally how your business will grow, or how it will die. Next to hard work it is literally one of the most important elements to success. It is the path to abundance and wealth. Why? Because being of a positive state of mind “attracts” positive things into your life, being negative, attracts negative things, and your success can not grow in negative ground, PERIOD! We’ve all heard of the law of gravity, right? You throw a ball into the air, and it must return to earth. It’s not something we can change, or alter. It is law. Eventually, everything that goes up, must come down. There is another law in play. One we cannot change, nor tweak, nor shift, nor alter…a law that is always there, whether we realize it or not. It is the “Law of Attraction”. When you are of a positive “vibration” (if you will) you will attract the necessary tools, people, assets, and opportunities to reach your goals. Your business will thrive in that fertile soil! Just like if you are negative, you will repel those vital attractions, and draw to you negative things, and your business can and will not only stall or stop, it may even reverse itself. If you focus on what you want, and not what you don’t want, you will draw a positive outcome to you. By the same token, if you concentrate on what you don’t want, you will draw that to you. In essence, you need to harness your thoughts. Be careful what you concentrate on for it will come to pass. It always has…it always will. It is a law that can not be broken, simple as that. It is that simple, and yet it is difficult at the same time. Most of us have been so conditioned to worry, stress, fear and fret over what might happen, we forget what we want to happen. We forget to focus on our “why” and what we are striving to accomplish. We’ve all heard the saying; “Be careful what you wish for”. This is exactly what I’m talking about. It’s not the “positive” you need to be careful with, it is the “negative” that is the curse.“So a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” The Bible tells us. There is tremendous power in positive thinking, and focus. So much so, it has literally been referred to as the “SECRET” to obtaining what you want out of life. The greatest gift you can give yourself is to learn this “Secret” and apply the principles it teaches. Nothing will ever change your life more. Nothing will bring your life more happiness, contentment, and success then this truth. Nothing! You need to understand, it’s not just a “hobby” to read positive material. It is not just wise to focus on your goals and dreams in a positive light. It is absolutely crucial! So, how do you keep from slipping back into the “Forget it, I’ll just work my job for another 30 years and retire” mode, or an “It won’t work, so what’s the use” frame of mind?

Success Is A Choice

First: Secure your “why”. Then, scour the internet and watch every video on self improvement, and positive motivation you can find. Personally, one of my all time favorites is Les Brown. He is an amazing example of the power of positive thinking and the passion of believing in your dreams. Zig Ziglar ( who passed away last week November 28,2012) is another speaker who changed my life forever.

I recently attended an event in Orlando,Florida called "Unleash The Power Within" with a group of people from TradeSmart U, a group of option traders I study with. Beside four days of intense study and motivation, I held my walking cane(oh did I mention I have problems walking) and walked across a bed of red hot coals. Try it sometime if you think it's just Bull$hit. We learned about nutrition and mindset and believe me, after that weekend Tony Robbins has been instrumental in my life.

I had read and viewed most of his tapes as well as Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie and learned from all of them. Listen to these experts, and you will start to feel your mind change in a very short period of time, where nothing will shake you from your goals… and I mean NOTHING ! These amazing gentlemen have the power to change the way we think, and propel us toward our future, if we just have the discipline to listen to them. For me this was a problem, so I had to force myself to listen in the beginning. You may have to do the same. Understand that listening to the lesson’s they teach will soon became an important part of your daily routine, and move you out of your present circumstances and mindset into a different frame of mind, where you will begin to see  that YOU can win at your goals and dreams!

Secondly: You should read! You should make it a habit to read at least 10 pages a day from books such as “Think and Grow Rich”, An Enemy Called Average, Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude, just to name a few. These are absolutely essential in keeping your thought process on tract and your mindset focused! Combine both books, and motivational videos/audio and you will have a tremendously strong armor to reach your goals!

Third: You need to check your mindset daily! Stay confident and above all KEEP LEARNING! Keep growing. Your mind should be like a sponge, sucking up every bit of positive influence you can find! It takes a big shield to ward off the arrows of negativity we are exposed to everyday. It takes some pretty big canons to defeat our thoughts when they begin to eat us alive with doubt. Always keep the wolves away with positive affirmation… you will need it in your war against mediocrity. There is so much more I could add to this principle, if you’re going to make it to that place you hold deep in your thoughts… deep in your heart…the place where all of your dreams are alive and you are living every moment of them, then your dreams have to be at least that tough! This leads me to this segment’s ultimate point: You can’t quit just because something gets in your way, because something will ALWAYS GET IN YOUR WAY! Life has a very tricky way of trying to throw you off course in order to test your resolve. Don’t let it! Hold steadfast to your “why”, stay positive, stay focused, and NEVER SURRENDER YOUR DREAMS!

Peyton Manning,Champion

Peyton Manning, a Champions Champion

I will never forget Peyton Manning’s first game as a professional member of the Indianapolis Colts. I was a Diehard Dan Marino fan and looked forward all pre-season long for opening day Sunday, September 6,  that day Peyton Manning hit Marvin Harrison in the right corner of the end zone in the final minute against the Miami Dolphins in the opening week of the 1998 season for his first touchdown pass. Some 420+ touchdowns later, he's still going strong.

Manning finished that first game 21-of-37 for 302 yards accentuating a one-touchdown, three-pick day. He was going up against a master in Dan Marino with a club that was simply outmatched. The Colts didn't have the talent to hang with the playoff-bound Dolphins. Manning kept the Colts close for a while, but a pick-six in the fourth quarter put the team down 15 points. Manning was sacked four times behind an Colts line that would take half a season to gel. Manning's final throw of the day was both cosmetic and historic. It changed nothing, but it signified that everything had changed.

In his rookie season, he passed for 3,739 yards with 26 touchdowns, set five different NFL rookie records, including most touchdown passes in a season, and was named to the NFL All-Rookie First Team.[Manning's first win came against fellow rookie quarterback Ryan Leaf, 17–12 over the Chargers. Weeks later, Manning faced off against San Francisco 49’ers star QB, Steve Young he threw three touchdowns, tying a Colts rookie record, but the 49ers kicked a late field goal to win 34–31 In November against the N.Y. Jets, Manning threw for three touchdowns in a 24–23 win; he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for this performance. It was the first game-winning drive of Manning's career, as he hit Marcus Pollard with the game-winning TD pass. Manning was certainly a bright spot in 1998 for the Colts, but he also threw a league high 28 interceptions as the team struggled to a 3–13 record with a defense that gave up more than 27 points per game. The Colts lost many close games, including five games in which they had led by double-digits at some point.

Peyton Manning released by Colts owner Isray
After a May 23 neck surgery, Manning could not use the Colts' facilities for practice and workouts due to the NFL lockout. He was so reluctant to have witnesses to his recovery that he used the Colorado Rockies baseball team's trainers at Coors Field in Denver. Manning was unable to complete his throwing motion, and his arm strength was so poor that he was compared to Chad Pennington. Based on an MRI, doctors told him in the late summer that he needed spinal fusion surgery and that at his age they could not guarantee his return to the NFL.[167] On September 7 the Colts officially ruled Manning out for the season opener against Houston, ending his consecutive starts streak of 208 games (227 including playoffs); the team signed Kerry Collins out of retirement and named him interim starting quarterback.[168] After seeking other opinions, Manning had the second surgery on September 8.

"To me, he's the greatest of all time. He's a friend of mine, and someone that I always watch and admire, because he always wants to improve, he always wants to get better, and he doesn't settle for anything less than the best. So, when you watch the best and you're able to learn from the best, hopefully that helps me get better."

Manning stated that while he did intend to play during the 2011 season, he would not "fight" the front office to stay off injured reserve if his roster spot was needed. Manning started practicing throwing footballs again in mid-December, with teammate Joseph Addai  even claiming his passes looked "game ready.Ultimately, Manning did not play a single game in 2011, and the Colts went 2–14 without him, only the second season since Manning was a rookie that the Colts did not win at least 10 games.

Manning was released by the Colts on March 7, 2012.Upon his release, Colts owner Jim Irsay announced that no Colt will ever wear the #18 jersey again, though it is not being officially retired at this time.

Peyton Manning and John Elway
After a crazy 2 week tour of prospective teams  from the San Francisco 49ers to the Tennessee Titans (who were offering a blank check to the University of Tennessee  all-time leading passer with 11,201 yards and 89 touchdowns and winner of 39 of the 45 games he started, 4 of those losses to the University of Florida) interviewing and working out for the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos, Peyton had to make a decision if and where to continue his assault on the NFL passing records. Then on March 20, 2012, 13 days after being released by the Colts, Peyton reached an agreement with Broncos GM John Elway and owner Pat Bowlen on a five year contract worth 96 million dollars. Everyone in Denver was elated by this news that although #18 is retired in honor of Frank Tripucka, he gave Manning permission to wear it. Everyone except Denver’s first round draft pick in 2010 Tim Tebow who On July 29 2010 signed a five-year contract with the Broncos that had a base value of $11.25 million with a possibility of 33 million with incentives. The contract also included $8.7 million guaranteed money for the passionate quarterback from Peyton’s nemesis, the University of Florida where Tebow led the Gators to 2 SEC championships (2006,2008) as well as 2 National Championships (2007,2009). Incidently, Tebow made his SEC debut against the Tennessee Volunteers on September 16, 2006 His performance included a ten-yard run on his first carry and converting a critical fourth down near the end of the game, which led to the Gators' go-ahead touchdown, But today we are talking about Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning silences the critics.

Peyton Manning Broncos QB
Yesterday November 18, 2012, Peyton Manning moved to second on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list during the second quarter of the Denver Broncos' 30-23 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
Manning surpassed former Miami Dolphins great Dan Marino on the all-time list with the 421st touchdown pass of his career -- a 13-yard strike to Demaryius  Thomas in the back of the end zone. Manning finished the game completing 25 of 42 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns. Brett Favre’s 497 TD’s are Peyton’s next challenge but as tough as he is and at only 35 years old it seems very possible. By next season he ought to surpass Marino’s 61,361 passing yards for second place on the All Time List with Favre’s 71,838 not too far away as well. But Peyton’s ultimate goal is to lead the Bronco’s to another Super Bowl Championship which in 2006 Manning led the Colts to a 29–17 victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI and was voted Super Bowl MVP.

Peyton Manning Super Bowl MVP
Manning, who had been criticized for failing to win big games, exorcised his big-game demons with the win. "In years' past when our team's come up short, it's been disappointing", he told reporters. "Somehow we found a way to have learned from some of those losses and we've been a better team because of it." For his role in the Colts' championship run, Manning was awarded the ESPY for Best Championship Performance.
He led the 2009 Colts to his second Super Bowl appearance ultimately won by Drew Brees and  the New Orleans Saints , but again, today we are talking about Peyton Manning, a true champion! I could fill up the page with all of Peyton’s highlights and awards but what strikes me the most is that Peyton Manning is a true Champion today because of his persistence, his hard work and continuous regimen of practice striving for his ultimate goal of perfection. Try telling him that perfection is unobtainable and he will work harder. He is a relentless field general that changes plays in a split second after reading the defensive alignments and he has silenced all the critics that said he would never come back from the neck surgeries that sidelined him and caused the Indianapolis Colts to have the worst record in football after the 2011 season without him. With the first pick of the 2012 draft the Colts selected Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck after Mr. Isray decided that Peyton was done.
Never count out Peyton Manning! He is a warrior who continues to strive in the face of any and all adversities. Peyton is one of my role models because he is a winner, not a whiner!
