What Do You Deserve?

WE USUALLY GET WHAT WE DESERVE

Back when I was gambling professionally, it seemed like everyone had an opinion on which casino was rigged. I never really thought that, but I also didn't really think that I was winning as much as I was supposed to. To test this, I recorded every single session I played for over a year. Guess what? I was within a fraction of one percent from where I was supposed to be statistically. I learned that not only were the casinos not rigged, I wasn't very good at mentally aggregating lots of independent events. I think that in real life, we all have a natural inability or unwillingness to accept that we generally receive what we deserve. Before I get into this, though, I'll say that it definitely isn't true all of the time. I offer the idea here just a useful tool and framework, not to pass judgement. For example, I know people who have lost close family members, people who have been raped, and people who have been affected by other horrible things. I don't think that they deserve those things or earned them in some way. I think they're an unfortunate side effect of the chaos and variance of life, which is otherwise a good thing. When I was around twenty, I knew for a fact that I would become rich by the age of twenty-five. Twenty five was really old and I knew that I was special, so it made perfect sense to me that I'd be rich by then. I put in a moderate amount of effort, and made moderate progress towards my goal, but didn't really even come close! When I turned twenty five, I was at least a little bit surprised that I wasn't a millionaire yet. I'm still not a millionaire, but I'm not surprised about it anymore. I've seen people work harder than me and work smarter than me and become rich. I've seen the dedication it takes, and I've seen how that compares to what I have typically put in.

I think I've gotten about what I deserve.

I've done some interesting things, worked hard some of the time, and have made enough money to support a simple lifestyle that I like a lot. Strange path, but it seems about right to me. Last year I spent two months getting back into pickup. I knew it would be hard, but in the back of my head I thought, "Hey, I'm a pretty awesome guy and I used to be really good a this. I bet it's going to go really well." It went okay, which is probably what you'd expect when you balance those positive with the negatives of me being rusty, naturally introverted, and in full on hermit-programmer mode. On a more positive note, I think I do a pretty good job of being positive and treating people well, and when I think of how lucky I am to have such great friends and family, I think that I've again gotten what I deserve.

HERE IS A CONTEST TO GET WHAT YOU DESERVE...

              GREAT CONTEST HUH?

You can adopt this mindset and think of it in a few different ways. The harsh reality is that if something in your life isn't where you want it to be, it's most likely your fault. We're all dealt a different set of cards, and I think that most of us are old enough now that we've been given a chance to do something with them. So if you were born poor and haven't put in enough effort to make money, I think it's time to stop blaming your upbringing and start taking responsibility. Of course, if you were born poor, are still poor, and don't care, that's totally fine, too. You got what you deserved and you're happy with it.

INTERNET MARKETING Part 7

MORE INTERNET MARKETING

Internet marketing is a good way to grow any business. One of the biggest benefits of Internet marketing is the potential to attract customers from around the world. It is important to use effective strategies for Internet marketing, and you can learn them easily. What follows are ways to maximize the effectiveness of your Internet marketing strategy.   Provide a button that allows others to quickly and easily links back to your site. An advertising badge or a linking badge lets people know that it's fairly easy to work with you or to link with you. This is something that's mutually beneficial for you and anyone else out there with a website. The most successful way to bring in sales is to use real time leads. Obtaining leads in real-time is useful, as it allows you to respond to interested customers immediately. With a real-time lead, you get a potential customer's information the moment they inquire about your products. If your company site isn't often changed, you should add a blog. New content gets the attention of the search engines which will increase your ranking in their listings and lead to more traffic for your site. Writing a blog can allow you to consistently add fresh content. Include excellent graphics on your website to showcase the products you are selling. This gives the customer peace of mind, as they get to see a detailed photograph of what they are ordering. Allow customers to post their own images of your products to show how they use them. Depending on the type of products you sell, you may also want to include "before and after" pictures.

INTERNET MARKETING E-MAILS

If you are using emails regularly then always strive to include useful links and information, instead of sending the same type of email over and over. A block of links that remain the same with every email your customers receive is easy to start ignoring. Just providing some variety in the links may help keep the reader's attention. If you are seeking additional web traffic, look to improve on optimizing your site for the search engines by having a unique and original content. Online retailers with common products should especially note this, as there is more competition in the search engine. Providing your own unique descriptions of products and using rich, descripyive adjectives will help your site stand out and be recognizable. A small company that is internet based still needs a logo and slogan. Customers will remember you and your brand if you use marketing tools like this. Catchy slogans have a way of staying in the mind of consumers for long periods of time. When a potential customer is looking to purchase your product, your slogan may come to mind, and bring you a new sale. Wealth can be a wonderful motivator, but keep your eyes focused squarely on the goals of your business to attain it. Aspiring to lofty goals is important for helping you to keep up the momentum to grow your business, and the advice shared here can help you attain those goals.

Traffic Traffic Traffic

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TRAFFIC

Whether you choose to become involved in a MLM or affiliate marketing, there is one facet to becoming successful online that is more important than anything else in the networking arena and that is TRAFFIC! If there’s one thing you take from this book, it needs to be this simple truth; Traffic + Good Opportunity = $ !!! No Traffic + Good Opportunity = No $! There is just no way around it. If you master how to drive traffic, you will succeed. If you do not, you will fail. Simple as that. When you embark on your journey of “Internet Marketing” you must fully understand that your number one goal is to drive traffic to your opportunity. There is NOTHING more result producing than this, and NOTHING will break your spirit faster than not having it. The reasons are obvious. Traffic means prospects, and prospects mean leads, and leads means sales and or business associates and that equals $$$. So let us get right to it. Let’s look into the deep, vast realm of Internet traffic, and how to drive some of it straight to your opportunity. We’ll start with social media:

 GETTING TRAFFIC ON FACEBOOK

Since the invention of Facebook the world has changed, especially the world of “Internet Marketing”. Thanks to the inventors of this social network, it is now possible to post your opportunity on your “Wall” with either a link, or an enticing ad copy, and attract untold numbers of prospects with a click of a mouse. Do not underestimate the power of this market place, for it stretches across the world and commands an unbelievably MASSIVE audience, one in which you can tap into within seconds! Where else can you have access to over 600 million people, with millions of possible prospects? It is a very exciting platform and it’s all FREE! As mentioned, you can post your opportunity on your wall, and on your friends walls, and in designated groups relevant to your niche. For example, if you are promoting a weight loss product, you would join specific groups on Facebook relevant to that product, and promote it to them as well. The only thing you should realize is that you have to be considerate when marketing on FB and here’s why: It is easy to spam there (or at least what the administrator’s consider spamming) and they do NOT put up with it. It’s understandable, no one likes to check their mailbox and find a flood of gibberish and sales pitches, which is what happens far too often on Facebook. Eventually, their site filters will detect if you are spamming, and your account will be suspended. So, how do you go about promoting your opportunity without spamming? Simple: Number one thing is to post your opportunity in the manner described above, and when posting to YOUR wall, you want to post it between 3 and 4 hours apart (only post once a day in groups, and only once a week or more on your friends walls). Now, I know some of you reading this are saying to yourself; “Three or four hours apart? I work for a living. I don’t have time to do that!” Not to worry, there is FREE software that you can program to post your ads for you.   Personally, my favorite is “Hootsuite”. This program is super user-friendly and lets you post to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Buzz, Chatter and more -simultaneously, or separately if you chose. Type in your ad, schedule it to run every 3 to 4 hours, and you’re done. You can be advertising in your sleep! Pingler.com ,Same deal there; 24/7 advertising! Yet another is “Ping.fm”. Any one of these programs will help you stay on a consistent marketing schedule while you are busy living your life. One bit of advice I would like to admonish when promoting on FB; don’t send to other people’s inboxes (although it is quite common a practice by many).

Unsolicited emails is “spam” in its purest form, and chances are, many recipients will mark it as such. As a whole, it is repelling, and counter productive. You’ll be wasting your time, and getting a lot of people very unhappy with you. Remember, many people on Facebook are there for the social experience, and while it has never made much sense to me to take a picture of what I’m eating for dinner and post it as my status, many people do just that. They are not interested in business opportunities, all they want to do is play on their virtual farms, and tell their friends what color socks they are wearing. That is their choice, and it should be respected. One very effective trick when promoting on Facebook is add likeminded people into your network of friends. Think of your friends list as your marketing base; it is where your prospects and potential customers will come from. It is easy to spam there (or at least what the administrator’s consider spamming) and they do NOT put up with it. It’s understandable, no one likes to check their mailbox and find a flood of gibberish and sales pitches, which is what happens far too often on Facebook. Eventually, their site filters will detect if you are spamming, and your account will be suspended.

TRAFFIC IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR SUCCESS

So, how do you go about promoting your opportunity without spamming? Simple: Number one thing is to post your opportunity in the manner described above, and when posting to YOUR wall, you want to post it between 3 and 4 hours apart (only post once a day in groups, and only once a week or more on your friends walls). Now, I know some of you reading this are saying to yourself; “Three or four hours apart? I work for a living. I don’t have time to do that!” Not to worry, there is FREE software that you can program to post your ads for you. Personally, my favorite is “Seesmic”. Another popular program is “Hootsuite”. Same deal there; 24/7 advertising! Think of your friends list as your marketing base; it is where your prospects and potential customers will come from. Now, here’s a challenge when promoting on Facebook; if you only have 50 friends on your list, then you won’t get much exposure. Remember, it is a numbers game. You need to add friends daily, but here you must use caution. A year ago you could add 100 friends a day and never worry about being stopped, but in the ever changing “Zuckerberg world”, they’ve lowered that number dramatically. Now you can send out about 10 to 20 a day (maybe a couple dozen more if you do it at a snail’s pace). Regardless of the tedious nature of building your list, you need to be consistent. Set a goal everyday to add friends (people) to your list. Tomorrow, we'll tell you how to do it!

AFFILIATE MARKETING TIPS

AFFILIATE MARKETING

Unlike Multi-Level-Marketing,  Affiliate Marketing is based on commissions, and is not residual driven. There are situations however, that produce what is referred to as “upsales”, which is an additional sale, after the initial one, by means of additional products etc. but it is not residual income. Don’t let the lack of residual income blind you to this opportunity, for it is possible to make a GREAT deal of money with this method. As a matter of fact, some “Super Affiliates” make six and seven figure incomes with this method. If you feel this field suits you, then you need to learn several key elements in order to succeed. If done correctly, Affiliate Marketing can be a lucrative and rewarding career… if done incorrectly, it can be a very frustrating experience. That’s why we are going to cover how to do it correctly right off the bat, in order to save you time and money, and perhaps even a few gray-hairs. First thing you will need to do is head on over to “Clickbank.com” and sign up for an affiliate account. “Clickbank” is the most widely recognized online affiliate platform, and has a great deal of products to promote.

Sign up under “Affiliates” and set up your account. Once signed up and verified, go into the “Marketplace” by clicking on the tab. Once inside, read the tutorial carefully on how to find products to promote: Make sure you chose a product with a gravity of 50 or better. This is an indication that the product is converting (selling) well.

Once you find a product (or what is referred to as your “niche”), and create your hop-link to promote it, it’s time to do some research. The first thing you need to do is to visit the page of the product you are going to promote by clicking the title in red (I selected a diet program for example) and study it. You need to know what you are promoting: Then copy the URL: Next, go to “Google Adwords.com” and sign up for an account. Once your account is established, click the “Reporting and Tools Tab” and select the “Keyword Tool”. Next, paste the URL you copied from Clickbank in to the “Website” box: Next, click the search button to extract the keywords associated with the website: Now, what you want to look for are keywords where there is high volume (people imputing them into search engines) and there is room in the competition (as seen above). The keywords in the screen shot above are good keywords to evaluate. Let’s take the keyword “diet plans” for our next step. It has very high volume, and plenty of room in the competition.

Traffic is Increased by Affiliate Marketing

Now, there are several ways to promote your product, and many ways to drive traffic to it (more In this example, this shot shows us that the average price for CPC (cost-per-click) advertising for this keyword is between $4.54 - $5.58 per click. That is very expensive and can break the bank very easily (please see the CPC and CPM segment for further explanation). In short, this analysis tells us we would be better off promoting this keyword and product in the form of article marketing, forum marketing, and social media marketing, unless of course we can afford such a high click cost. I would avoid promoting this product using this keyword with CPC simply because the campaign would be very expensive. This tip alone will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars! Far too many people get into CPC and CPM marketing and have no idea that it will cost them that much every time someone clicks on their promotion link, whether that person buys the product or not. Without a clear-cut strategy you will burn through your advertising budget in no time without any results to show for it. This method of advertising can be dangerous territory, and it is best to stay clear of it until you have done EXTENSIVE research and fully understand the ins-and-outs of it.

Internet Marketing Part 4

Multi Level Marketing

Ever heard the saying; “Don’t judge a book by its cover?” This has never been truer then with Multi-Level-Marketing. The strange thing is, for some weird reason, the initials MLM have become a four-letter word in many peoples minds. There’s even groups on Facebook that pride themselves in boasting that they’re not involved in one. That is nothing short of tragic. To think of all these people who believe they are right, and are letting an opportunity of a lifetime pass them by because they are too ignorant or narrow minded to find out the truth before passing judgment. Sad. Some of the most successful companies in the world are based on multi level marketing so they were considered pyramids, therefore scams. You know of the soap company I mean or the vitamin company. What didn’t make sense to me about that claim was; a pyramid scam is illegal, but what I was doing back in 1990 had been around for 30 years, was affiliated with fortune 500 companies, highly accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and had a mountain of products.
That’s not a pyramid scam. That’s not even close to a pyramid scam. And, the true MLM opportunities on the internet today are NOWHERE NEAR pyramid scams. I quickly realized the majority of people don’t know what a “Pyramid Scam” really is, they just use it as a lazy metaphor. Often as an excuse when they don’t understand the opportunity that is being presented to them. The term “Pyramid Scam” (or scheme) originated in the 1970’s and initially had to do with bogus stocks on Wall Street. Today we refer to them as “Ponzi-Schemes” or “Bernie Madoff’s Retirement Plan” or for those of us in South Florida most recently, Scott Rothstein effected our entire community in some way, shape or form.  This astonishes me, because a J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) is one of the biggest pyramids known to mankind! Think about it; you have the owner of a company at the very top of the pyramid and he makes the majority of the money. Then you have his/her front line managers who make the second most money in the company, then you have those who report to them who make less, then those below them, on and on, until it gets to the guy/gal who punches a clock and works for peanuts. Now THAT’S a pyramid! But it’s not a scam (the ones punching the clock may disagree). Why? One very simple element makes it legal.

WHY MARKETING?

All businesses must have one of two things; They must sell or offer a product or service in order to be a legitimate entity in the eyes of the Federal Trade Commission. Wikipedia defines it as such: “A pyramid scam is a non-sustainable business model that involves promising participant’s payment, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme or training them to take part, rather than supplying any investment or sale of products or services to the public.” So there you have it. Multi-Level-Marketing (as a whole) is not a swindle. It is a legitimate business structure when it has products and/or services, and is one of the single best ways for an “average person” to become successful in today’s marketplace. Look at “Herbalife” for example. It is a perfectly legitimate, and very profitable MLM structure, which has produced hundreds of millionaires since it’s conception in the late 1970’s. In the beginning, people scoffed at it’s marketing structure calling it a pyramid, and a silly little vitamin scheme. That silly little vitamin gig reported sales of 2.7 BILLION in sales in 2010! Not bad for a guy who started it by selling vitamins out of the trunk of his car! You just need to remember, when entering a MLM, you need to be diligent in your evaluation, and do your research, but by all means, DO NOT judge it by it’s cover. REMEMBER Profits are BETTER than wages. There are several MLM businesses online that look kind of cheesy, that are true moneymakers, and then, there are those that flash like a million bucks that I would not touch with a ten-foot pole! It can be rather tricky to know which concepts you shouldn’t become involved in, and which ones are the best investment of your time and money. Thankfully, there are ways to narrow down the gauntlet. The only challenge is; “which one do you choose?”. There are hundreds of them all over the Internet. Let’s dive into some techniques of weeding through these opportunities: Google it. Trust me; if there is something wrong with a business, somebody’s gotten mad enough to write about it. “Rip-Off Report” is one avenue where people vent their frustrations. Another way to investigate a company’s legitimacy is to punch it into Google (or any other search engine) search box and look it up. Others will even blog about their unfortunate tangle with the unscrupulous. But, even here you must take all things into consideration. If a company has been around for ten years, and two people didn’t like something that seems rather inconsequential, then chances are it’s not the company who’s in the wrong. Sometimes people are disappointed in an opportunity because of their own expectations, and nothing more. To me, a company is a scam if they don’t pay me what they promote, and if they keep my money and don’t refund it if I am unsatisfied. Also: Check to see if they have a rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and what it is. Naturally, the “A” listed ones are the best. If they are not accredited with the BBB, then check to see if they are registered with the DSA (Direct Selling Association). This organization is very thorough and has its fingers on the pulse of the industry. It is just as well to have a rating from the DSA, as it is with the BBB.  Ask around online. Here you have to be careful. When I say ask around, I don’t mean ask your friend who thinks everyone online is on the take. Don’t ask the guy/gal who thinks all online opportunities are pyramid schemes. Remember, there are “ill”-informed people who think everything online is “ill”legitimate. They pay no attention to the fact that an opportunity has been positively featured on News programs, or in high end Magazines. Regardless of these truths, they think you are trying to “pick-pocket” their wallet via an internet connection. This is just the way it is. You can open their eyes, but it takes time. I remember I had one gentleman (actually, he wasn’t all that gentle) tell me point blank; because it was an online opportunity, it simply had to be illegal. How silly is that? That’s like saying; “Because I don’t like a certain food, it can’t taste good to anyone else.” That’s ridiculous! This guy was stuck on stupid! It wouldn’t have mattered if I was marketing Walmart Gift Cards; he would have balked at the very idea that it was an electronic promotion. Now, he is one of my top producing associates.

People change. They can, and do grow. You just can’t let their negativity stop or slow you down. If I hadn’t been patient, yet persistent he never would have joined the opportunity I was promoting, and his and my life would have been far lesser because of it. Obviously the truth could not be farther away from his thinking at the time, and he now knows it. The Internet is loaded with very real and incredible opportunities, some of which can actually help you fund your marketing campaigns. But, if the mind is stuck in the “scam syndrome” then there is little chance a person will open it enough to take advantage of those opportunities, or even learn what they are about before passing judgment. So don’t ask just anyone. Ask professional people that will give you a well-rounded, honest evaluation of the company/opportunity you are investigating. There are many people online who will be happy to deliver their decent and unbiased opinion. Another thing you need to look at is the cost:  How much does it cost to get involved?  Is it a one time fee, or is it reoccurring (weekly, monthly?)  Are there any hidden costs such as promotional tools, banners, ads, etc?  How difficult is it to market? Arguably, the last in this list is the most important. Many online opportunities don’t cost much to get in. One of the best I know of, only costs $10 to join, and another one costs only $6! These are easily marketable businesses, because they costs so little to get involved with (and in one case nothing at all) making them what is known in the industry as a “no-brainer”. But, if the opportunity costs too much then it can be a hard sell, even for seasoned marketers, and even if you can afford it. Remember, the name of the game in “Network Marketing” (especially in MLM programs) is duplication. High dollar initial investment is not very duplicatable, especially in this economy (let’s face it, in this economy the term “high dollar” is relative). I STRONGLY encourage you to not be enticed by these types of programs, UNLESS you can afford them, and you have the knowledge and skills to market them quickly and effectively. If not, you are wasting your, and your up-lines time, because all you will end up doing is stagnating, getting frustrated, and eventually dropping out of the program. Remember, this is a business. You are investing in it, and it may take some time before you see a return on that investment. I suggest you stick with the ones that won’t cost you an arm-and-a-leg, and won’t do the same to any of your prospects. As a general rule, in the beginning, you should probably stick to the ones that only cost $25 - $100 a month and can return your investment in the quickest amount of time. That is all I started with. E-Book Writing, Publishing & Selling

 E-Books Basics

Why in the world would anyone want to write an e-book was the question that I was asked at a snooty party after the Dolphins game this past Sunday. Well it doesn't take much to get me started so I told everyone in the suite that "writing e-books is the greatest opportunity for anyone who has wanted to write the next great biopic or the steamiest romance novel, to live out their dreams or seek fame and fortune by writing an e-book". Make money ? writing an e-book?? surely you jest?? Whether you are interested in fact or fiction, the story of Andrew Carnegie or the workings of a Benelli Super Black Eagle II, an experienced writer or a journalism freshman in college, you can make money writing an e-book. The popularity of the iPad, the Kindle and the Nook as well as all of the smart phone apps has caused a resurgence to the literary world as we know it. There is now a whole new range of opportunities to writers who never thought they could ever become a published author. Back in the old days a writer could struggle along for months putting on paper their thoughts and dreams only to be rejected from some cigar smoking bully who thought he knew what the whole world wanted to read about. Some writers who were lucky enough to finance their own publishing efforts, were left with cheap looking efforts which left them disillusioned with the whole industry.

The ebook reader, such as the Nook or Kindle, has revolutionised the publishing world, empowering and enriching writers in the process. Anyone with the gumption to put their ideas out there for the world to see has an immediate market to share their ideas with. There are now an estimated 750,000 authors e-publishing worldwide.  There are around 680,000 titles for sale on the Kindle store alone with another one million + free titles available for download. You are just a few clicks away from a Google search to find out how easy it is to publish your own ebook online. What do you need to know? What does it involve? And how much money can you make?

Starting An e-Book

Publishing your e-book has gotten simple but actually writing your e-book has not. You can compare writing an ebook to running a marathon. Anyone that finishes a marathon deserves credit, it is still hard work after all. But just because you have run a marathon, doesn’t mean you should be running in the Olympics any time soon. As a matter of fact the big problem with e-publishing is that the vast majority of books that are being self-published are terrible! They are poorly written, woefully edited, badly formatted, etc. Many people rush to get their work published online, but this is the problem. A badly written book isn’t going to sell, no matter how cheap it is! Very few writers profit on their first book, usually the fourth or fifth if you keep at it. But if you do keep at it you will stumble upon some important discoveries, about yourself as well as about the wonderful world of e-books.

E-book Plan of Attack

I learned a long time ago, whether you are playing chess or trading options, that you need to plan your work then work your plan. It is good to be passionate about whatever you do   but you would be wise to use something that you have already written then expand and edit it accordingly. Some of us bloggers take a particularly good blog and then dig a little bit deeper. Keep in mind that people who read on the the internet are sometimes distracted or unfocused so if your e-book is a bit long if not otherwise exciting reading, you may lose some people with limited attention spans. [caption id="attachment_110" align="aligncenter" width="275" caption="E-book writer"][/caption]   The whole e-book market is rapidly evolving, and a lot of self-publishing companies are offering e-book deals bundled into their print book publishing packages, which makes them harder to break out and evaluate. It's all quite complicated, and in an effort to sort through the confusion, I've decided to offer a few basic tips and present what I think are some of the best options out there for creating an e-book quickly and easily.

E-Book Tips:

  • It's gotta be good: The same rule applies to self-published e-books as it does to print books. You have to start with a good product if you have any hope of selling it.
  • Create an arresting cover: When it comes to e-books, everything starts with the cover image. Creating an eye-catching, professional-looking cover that also looks good small (it has to stand out as a thumbnail image, since it's being sold online) is easier said than done, but it can really make a difference in terms of sales. Ideally, you should hire a graphic designer who has some experience creating book covers. From a production standpoint, an e-book cover is easier to create than a cover for a print book (you just need a JPEG with decent resolution), but it shouldn't look out of place among traditionally published e-books. I can't tell you how many bad self-published covers are out there.
  • If you need any art I recommend www.portraitdrawing.com  or www.nannankennedy.com Nancy has an awlul lot of experience with drawings and illustrations for books and covers. You'll be amazed with her work.
  • Price your e-book cheaply: You should sell your e-book for $5.99 or less. According to research done by Smashwords, an online e-book publishing and distribution platform for authors, publishers, agents, and readers, $2.99 to $5.99 yields the most profit for self-published authors, and although @ 99 cents will get you more downloads, it's a poor price point for earning income  On the other hand, Lulu, one of the bigger online self-publishing operations, says that authors who price their e-books in the 99-cent to $2.99 range "sell more units and earn more revenue than those in any other price range."
  • It's important to note that Amazon's 70 percent royalty for authors only applies to Kindle books priced between $2.99 and $9.99; otherwise, the rate kicks down to 35 percent). As for going free, well, Smashword data indicates that free e-books get about 100 times more downloads than priced e-books.Wonder why????
  • Avoid any outfits that don't let you set the price: This is one of the cardinal rules of self-publishing an e-book. You must be able to control the pricing of your e-book. If you want to sell it for 99 cents, then you should be able to sell it for 99 cents.
  • Marketing is all about creating awareness for your e-book: I don't have any secret marketing tips to offer, but what I can say is that you can't sell a book if no one knows it exists. Most of book marketing is simply about creating awareness and you need to do that however you can, whether it's through social media or blogging or passing out fliers on a street corner. You can make a business card for your book, and pass it out if someone seems interested in hearing more about it.
E-book publishing options: Here are the three big questions to bear in mind with e-book creation: First, what is the easiest and most cost-efficient way to produce an e-book? Second, where will it be distributed? Third, how much of a cut do you get? How to Sell Free eBooks on eBay for Profit First you will need an eBay account to sell from. An eBay membership is completely free, all you need is a PayPal account. Once you have en eBay account and you are ready to sell your e-book. Some people even supplement their income by selling other peoples e-books. You can either buy eBooks online with master resell rights, or some places have eBooks that are completely free with resell rights. The hard part is actually finding them online. List the item as an information product. You will have to pay a listing fee but you can make up for that in the cost of shipping. Include in the body of the eBay listing that you will email the eBook to the customer once the payment has been made. This will save you money in shipping costs but can pose issues if the file doesn't make it to the customer. Always take good care of your customers and request feedback from them. When other people see the eBook listings and all the great things people have said about them, you will sell more. Miranda Brookins has written another tutorial on selling e-books HERE

If making money in your business isn’t EASY, you ain’t doing it right…

Making Money Should Be Easy

Ok…
…this might sound a bit ‘off‘ from what a lot of people are saying, but I PROMISE you, that what I’m saying here is not only true, but when you really get it – I don’t think you’ll ever struggle to have money in your life again.
Let me define this for you…
When I say that making money is easy – I’m not saying it doesn’t involve work – what I am saying is that there should be no struggle involved in the process, and when you understand the flow of money and how to create income on demand, your income will ‘flow’ instead of having that feeling that you’re beating your forehead against a wall with nails in it…
Here’s how this post got inspired:
I was in an airport the other day, and got talking to a speech pathologist who is traveling through Costa Rica with some friends for the next month or two. After 2 or 3 minutes, she asked me what I do for a living, and I just decided to tell her the truth…
“I’m a drug dealer.”
After she got nervous, I laughed and said ‘kidding, seriously – what I do is EVEN better – I get paid to live like I want all day.’
We then started talking about economics, the government, the Federal Reserve System, and how the internet and instant communication fits into the future of the world.
(well, OK – it was me talking and her being bewildered by foreign concepts that almost no one understands…)
It became very clear to me in about 10 minutes, that this 35 year old gal had NO IDEA how the flow of money worked in the world, and it got me thinking…
…I wasn’t really able to create income on demand until I learned how the flow of money worked – and once I understood HOW it worked – I got rid of a bunch of silly concepts that were holding me back from creating what I wanted to create in my life.
Since that time – I’ve consistently made around $30,000 per month, and sometimes a lot more from my various businesses – and honestly, with very little struggle, it just ‘flows’.
So what the HECK did I learn?
Well, I was raised in a Mormon family, went on a mission, went to public school, my Grandpa was a University president for UAF in Fairbanks, Ak – and BOTH of my parents were exceptional students and products of the ‘system’ of the baby boomers…
…all of this nonsense resulted in me (along with the entire baby boomer generation – WHICH by the way, isn’t as true anymore, they are waking up to the real nature of what’s been happening to them in a BIG way right now) not understanding AT ALL the truth behind creating income.
I was raised with the philosophy that if I worked hard – I would be paid a fair wage for my labor – whether it is mental labor, as a product of my intellect and education, or whether it was physical labor (as a product of skipping school too much… lol)
In any case – it took me A LONG TIME to figure out that what I just described has absolutely nothing to do with how much money you’re going to have. Let me give you an example of how my personal stupidity resulted in a lot of poverty in my life:
I got involved in Amway in 2002, right after I was done being a Mormon missionary for 2 years in the British midlands. When I was a missionary – I had paid for all of my bills 2 years in advance, and the finances were managed by someone who was good with numbers (a mission accountant, essentially). My bills were paid from a central location that I didn’t manage, electricity, land-line (we weren’t allowed to have cell phones) and then about 40 pounds was direct deposited into my bank account every 2 weeks that was for ‘extra food’ when people didn’t feed us. (true story).
So I was completely free from financial burden, had my needs met all the time, never knew how much anything costs – and could focus on mission work (the point of the accountant guy – usually one of these guys manages about 300 missionaries).
I don’t know if I consciously thought this – or if it was an unconscious belief – but for some reason, when I got in Amway – I thought if I just ‘worked hard’ that I would have money mysteriously appear in my bank account.
NOT the case!
It’s funny – but if you’re an employee and you just ‘work hard’ you’re pretty much guaranteed a set wage as long as you have a job and perform – but employee’s rarely think about where the money for that wage comes from, that it has to come from several things:
1. Money changing hands from one person to another
2. Profit being generated from the difference between cost of goods and the revenue created.
3. BAMB! There’s now money to pay the employees, and hopefully some left over at the end of the month for the boss! (otherwise, you ain’t going to have that job for long)
Let me tell you the important part of that scenario though – that is the KEY indicator of a successful business:
1. MONEY CHANGING HANDS
You see, when I was in Amway, I worked REALLY HARD – the problem was, I didn’t understand that working hard has nothing to do with how much money you make. Let me explain the formula in a little more detail, and I’m going to show you how most people get hung up:
The formula is this: Person A has money, and gives it to Person B in exchange for something he wants.
Here’s the thing most people don’t get (it’s not that they don’t understand it – it’s that they never really think about it). To get the money from Person A – Person B doesn’t have to actually be involved in that process AT ALL.
?!?!?!?!?! WHAT?!!?!?!?! YOU MEAN I DON’T JUST HAVE TO WORK HARD TO GET MONEY!@!!@!!
Nope – in fact, how hard you work has nothing at all to do with how much money you are going to have in your life – how much money you’re going to have has literally only one key factor – how many people give you money, how much they give you, and what your profit margins are after you pay for everything.
When I figured that out – I started asking the next key question:
“Gosh dangit – how then do I get lots of people to give me lots of money – and what do I give them in exchange that’s so valuable that they’ll KEEP giving me money over, and over again???”
Lol. Kind of funny in one way – but thinking along those lines let me to a fascinating discovery – there are only actually a FEW WAYS of getting people to give you money! (legally, anyways – we’ll throw out gun-point robbery and drug dealing for now) All you have to do is pick one of these ways (they have different levels of pain and work depending on the method) and BAMB! Let’s make you some easy cash now!
Method #1 (The Stupid Way): Trade your manual labor (either mental or physical) for money your boss gives you, and just expect that it will keep working. The reason this way sucks, is that you’re intimately involved in the money-getting process, meaning that you have to show up to get paid.
Method #2 (The Smarter, But Not So Smart Way): Sell stuff to people that they don’t want or need, by getting really good at selling. This method can work to make lots of cash now – but the problem is, you’re still intimately involved in the process and are trapped – just like the employee – and since people don’t really want your stupid product, you won’t have any recurring purchases and selling will eventually burn you out.
Method #3 (Getting There – But Not Quite The Greatest Money Getting Method): Find a group of people who want something, and find a way to sell your product or service to them by leveraging what THEY WANT, to sell them what YOU WANT. This method actually works quite well if you know how to sell, but the problem with it is, there’s always a limited market with this method – if you have to convince people to do something that they don’t quite want, you’ve always got to be coming up with crazy ways to sell it to them. Although this isn’t my MAIN METHOD of earning income – I still use it all the time to sell valuable products and services to people who don’t know they want them… (yet)
Method #4 (ALMOST the greatest money making method ever, but not quite): Find out a product that a lot of people already want, and find the cheapest, best way of delivering it to them. Man, this method just rocks – the reason? No real selling required, you can acquire customers and keep them cheaper and longer if you give great value – PLUS, you can also upsell them products that they didn’t know they needed yet. However, this method still, although somewhat leveraged, is a high paying job – however, it’s a relatively easy one if you manage it properly. But unfortunately, if you stop working, your income stops, which leads us to…
Method #5: The BEST Way Of Money Getting In The History Of The World! Are you ready for this? Ok, grab a pen….
“Find a people who want a product with high profit margins and repeat purchases, find the best way of selling it to them WITHOUT you being involved in the process at all…”
I just had an orgasm.
(brb)
Ok, got my new shorts on – the cool thing about this method is that once you set it up – people give you money without you doing anything! Now that’s cool!
That means, you can make a ridiculous income, live wherever you want in the world, do what you love, and money just flows into your account on autopilot – with no hard work, effort, or energy involved.
That’s why I like Network Marketing (when done properly)
So here’s the couple of questions I have for you:
1. Are you trying to sell something that people just don’t want, or do you just suck at selling it?
2. Is there high enough profit in what you do to eventually outsource it so you don’t have to continue managing something for the rest of your life?
3. Is there a big enough market to sustain your dream lifestyle?
4. If you want – you’re welcome to send money my way, any time – just click on any of the images that 'glow' when you hover over them.
Lol.
In any case – I hope that you take these concepts and make a boat load of cash – the world needs more rich people to create jobs, buy nice stuff, and otherwise show us all what’s possible when the mind of man (or woman) is focused on a singular cause.
To the top,
