Make Your Blog Work for YOU
3 Smart Ways To Get Your Blog Posts Working Overtime
Once you become a blogger you quickly realize that there is a lot more to building a successful blog then JUST writing good posts.
Your time is limited, you have family, friends, maybe a J-O-B that you have to grow your blog around. You need to do the things that bring the most return on your time.
As a blogger that all starts with blog posts, blog posts can be anything you want them to be.
Have something to share? Write a post.
Have something to sell? Write a post.
Need help? Write a post.
Offer help? Write a post.
I could be here all day but I think you get my point...
Since blog posts are so important, then it makes sense to want them to work extra hard for you.. right?
Here are my 3 ways to get your blog post working harder and longer for you!
Use Titles That Grab People
The first step to getting your post read is to get readers attention with an interesting title.
What makes an interesting title? All it takes is being creative, but always keep the title targeted to what the post is about.
ex: “Do You Know How To Make Your Blog Sticky?” This does well because it’s a question and readers will be wondering what “sticky” is and how they can do it.
Put Keywords To Work Too
Take that a little further and add your keywords into the title. Adding your keywords to the front of your title will give you a post that is now working twice as hard for you, grabbing readers attention and getting that all important search luv.
Make Your Blog Easy To Read
We are all busy, and with so many great blogs to read it’s hard to read all posts word for word.
Many people, myself included will skim a post seeing what grabs my attention, if I see something I like, I will then read the whole post.
Keep It Small
A few ways you can make the “skimmers” see what’s most important is to first write in small paragraphs 1-3 small sentences tops. This makes it easy to read and makes the reader feel like they have less to read.
I have always written in small paragraphs because it’s easier to read and spread my thoughts out, but I got some nice proof recently that small was the way to go.
Other day I was reading the Copywriting Guru John Carlton’s blog
It was a monster post, so I skimmed it and then read it all but I wasn’t planning to read it all. But each time I was about to leave, the paragraph ended and kinda pushed me to the next.
Guess that’s why he is so damn good haha
When I read the whole post I looked at it again and noticed he writes in really small paragraphs and that helped me read it all.
Yes, John’s writing ability is a big part of what I kept reading, but the small paragraphs helped a lot.
Talk One On One
Another great way to get that post working harder, is to write as if you are talking to one person in the room.
write how you “really” talk
keep it simple
stay on point
make it personal
relax the over talk or technical talk
If you met me in a bar and we talked for 5 min you would know I’m JP from Money Dummy blog…would I know who you are?
Use Your Subs
Using subheadings helps the reader navigate your post easier and it also gives the skimmers a quick view of what each section will cover.
Subs are like mini titles… keep them creative to grab the skimmers eyes to want to read more.
Subheadings will help you write a post too. Sometimes I have an idea of what I want to write, I will throw down a few subheadings ideas then go back and write more for that section.
Highlight The Important Stuff
If you have something you really want your reader to see, then you need to make it look different from the rest of the post.
Using bold text or italics is a great way to get readers to see the important stuff.
Combining bold text, italics and even caps is a great way to make the post feel more interesting and also bringing the reader’s attention places you don’t want them to miss.
Promote Action
As you write a blog post you want to throw in some ways to make the reader take action or offer feedback or even continue the conversation after the post.
Doing this will help build an active community in your blog that will be noticed and bring in new readers wanting to join the party.
Here are a few ways to promote action in your posts.
Add a link in your post to another post that digs deeper into the topic.
Ask for comments, ask for their opinions, or their views on what you just wrote.
Ask them to re-tweet or share your post on social sites.
Ask them to join your newsletter or stay up-to-date thru email or RSS.
Your goal is to have the reader to do something after they read your post. Sometimes that means asking for it. If you don’t ask, you can’t be upset that they didn’t do it.
You work hard at writing quality blog posts, so why not get the most you can from each?
Treat each post like it is a little blog promoting robot lol

What Do You Deserve?
WE USUALLY GET WHAT WE DESERVE
Back when I was gambling professionally, it seemed like everyone had an opinion on which casino was rigged. I never really thought that, but I also didn't really think that I was winning as much as I was supposed to. To test this, I recorded every single session I played for over a year. Guess what? I was within a fraction of one percent from where I was supposed to be statistically. I learned that not only were the casinos not rigged, I wasn't very good at mentally aggregating lots of independent events.
I think that in real life, we all have a natural inability or unwillingness to accept that we generally receive what we deserve. Before I get into this, though, I'll say that it definitely isn't true all of the time. I offer the idea here just a useful tool and framework, not to pass judgement. For example, I know people who have lost close family members, people who have been raped, and people who have been affected by other horrible things. I don't think that they deserve those things or earned them in some way. I think they're an unfortunate side effect of the chaos and variance of life, which is otherwise a good thing.
When I was around twenty, I knew for a fact that I would become rich by the age of twenty-five. Twenty five was really old and I knew that I was special, so it made perfect sense to me that I'd be rich by then. I put in a moderate amount of effort, and made moderate progress towards my goal, but didn't really even come close! When I turned twenty five, I was at least a little bit surprised that I wasn't a millionaire yet.
I'm still not a millionaire, but I'm not surprised about it anymore. I've seen people work harder than me and work smarter than me and become rich. I've seen the dedication it takes, and I've seen how that compares to what I have typically put in.
I think I've gotten about what I deserve.
I've done some interesting things, worked hard some of the time, and have made enough money to support a simple lifestyle that I like a lot. Strange path, but it seems about right to me.
Last year I spent two months getting back into pickup. I knew it would be hard, but in the back of my head I thought, "Hey, I'm a pretty awesome guy and I used to be really good a this. I bet it's going to go really well." It went okay, which is probably what you'd expect when you balance those positive with the negatives of me being rusty, naturally introverted, and in full on hermit-programmer mode.
On a more positive note, I think I do a pretty good job of being positive and treating people well, and when I think of how lucky I am to have such great friends and family, I think that I've again gotten what I deserve.

You can adopt this mindset and think of it in a few different ways. The harsh reality is that if something in your life isn't where you want it to be, it's most likely your fault. We're all dealt a different set of cards, and I think that most of us are old enough now that we've been given a chance to do something with them. So if you were born poor and haven't put in enough effort to make money, I think it's time to stop blaming your upbringing and start taking responsibility. Of course, if you were born poor, are still poor, and don't care, that's totally fine, too. You got what you deserved and you're happy with it.

SECRETS FOR GETTING TRAFFIC
You hear this word a lot online when it comes to Marketing. Unfortunately, far too often the “secrets” you read about are nothing more than well known techniques that perhaps only YOU have never heard of. I’m proud to say, what I claim to be secrets I share are just that; secret methods on how to build your online business, and get ahead of your competition, and save yourself a ton of money in the process. I believe you were not led here by accident… you were meant to read every word. Of course, I cannot guarantee your success, for alas…it is up to you. Ultimately, it depends on how big your “why” is, and rests solely on your actions and determination. We have all seen the viral “Youtube” videos with the kitty-cat being cute and going nuts, right? Repeatedly the “Nightly News” shows a clip of a video from “Youtube” that has captured the attention of the entire world. Now, picture your business video getting just a fraction of that audience. Can you imagine the potential? “Youtube” is a FANTASTIC marketing platform! You can share promotional videos instead of just posting words and links, and this has a powerful effect on your potential customers/business associates. As an example; within an hour on the first day I opened my account and posted a promotional video, someone signed up to one of my opportunities. I’m not saying that will happen to you, but as the saying goes; “you can’t score if you don’t take the shot!” Once you have signed up for a MLM or affiliate program (or any other business for that matter) there should be promotional videos with your opportunity (if not, there is plenty of software online where you can create your own video explaining your opportunity). Head on over to “Youtube” and open a free account by clicking the “Create Account” button, and providing your information. Once that is complete, you need to begin adding friends, just like on Twitter and Facebook. Now, there are two ways you can do this. You can do it the mind-numbingly-slow-andtedious- hard-way; by manually looking up videos that are related to your business or niche, and subscribing to users and adding them as friends. OR You can download “Tubetoolbox” and literally start building your “Youtube” base overnight on autopilot! This is a very POWERFUL tool! It is by far the most user-friendly and efficient method for building a social media-platform that I have EVER used. I WISH they would come out with a comparable version for Facebook and Twitter You can download the program and try it for free here: Build Your Youtube Account On Auto Pilot! After the trail period is up, it will cost you $10 a month, with a one-time set up fee of $20.00, but I have to tell you, of all the “tools” that are out there, this one is simply the BEST, and so worth the money. In a month’s time you can literally send out 15,000 friend requests! (It would be more, but Youtube has a restriction as to how many you can send per day, fortunately it is nowhere near as strict as FB or Twitter).Not to mention, you can send an equal amount of promotional videos directly to each of your friends AND to anyone, and everyone, who is on “Youtube” whether they are in your friends list or not! This is just the tip of the iceberg with this thing! It also comes with instruction videos to take you systematically through the process of building your “Youtube” audience. Once you begin to use “Tubetoolbox” you will see how efficient it is in getting your business videos in front of thousands, with next to no effort on your part. Again however, I can’t say this enough; keep in mind that as you search for videos and people to add to your list, you must keep them relevant to your niche or opportunity to be most effective. It is so complete a system, there is scarcely anything else for me to say on how to build your “Youtube” platform. Download it, learn it, use it, and SUCCEED!

FisCal Cliff Economics Part 2
Unregulated pot farming is having disastrous effects on California's natural habitats.
No one wants this kind of news, but here we are. Under-the-radar pot farms in California are having dire consequences on the environment and state law enforcement's hands are tied when it comes to doing anything about it.
But it’s a plant! How can it possibly be bad for the Earth? In and of itself, it’s not. But as an unregulated industry, some of the techniques used are sucking the life out of our waterways, killing our forests and poisoning our soil.
Though growing pot under California state law is legal, under federal law, it is most certainly not. That’s why growers—usually those with substantial harvests—burrow into the forests to grow their crops under cover from federal agents.
According to OnEarth, massive amounts of rodenticide are used by forest-dwelling farmers in counties like Humboldt and Mendocino. Because those crops can’t be fenced in or otherwise protected from area wildlife, farmers dump large amounts of rodent and pest-killing poisons around the plants to ensure their safety.
Mourad Gabriel, a Northern California wildlife disease ecologist, toldOnEarth the effects of those chemicals are already having alarming results on area wildlife populations, the nearby Hoopa reservation, and the forest’s ecosystem.
Gabriel has discovered abandoned grow sites with as much as 90 pounds of rodenticide left behind, which is almost enough to wipe out about 12,000 deer mice, 1,500 wood rats, and other forest creatures. And that’s not even counting what all that chemical waste is doing to nearby waterways, which are already seeing the effects on fish populations crucial to the area.
MotherJones also reports that some farmers are engaging in forest clearing and the illegal diversion of streams.
But perhaps most frustrating is that state agencies are caught in a weird bureaucratic purgatory that’s keeping them from doing anything to regulate these farms.
State agents can’t shut down marijuana farms because they’re not illegal under state law. But they are illegal under federal law. The feds have already warned state policy makers and law enforcement agents that should they do anything to try to regulate the activity of pot-growers, it would be viewed essentially an act of aiding those farmers who are committing a federal offense. Aiding someone committing a federal offense is serious, and California officials report they were already told they would face personal federal prosecution should it be discovered that they were regulating any pot-farming activity.
There is a small avenue of consequence for growers who are caught doing things like altering waterways, but legally, those are only misdemeanors and so serve no real purpose in hindering the activity.
In the meantime, for the thousands of Californians who frequent medical dispensaries, they’re not without options. Much like how many of us buy our food today, choosing to purchase locally-sourced marijuana which is grown with organic techniques can make all the difference.
So Is That The Reason for the Fiscal Cliff?
The entrprenuial pot farmers don't want the government involved in marijuana farming. The cartels or any organized crime organizations don't want the government in the marijuana industry. The paper companies the distilled spirits and tobacco companies don't want the government involved in the pot business at all. That means that there is an awful lot of money to be made that these others won't make if the government got involved in the marijuana business.

ECONOMICS 101 & The Fiscal Cliff
The Fiscal Cliff is NONSENSE!
I mean really, it makes no sense to me. But I'll tell you something that does make sense to me. Our Country owes debt to other countries and other countries owe debt to The US of A. I don't understand and I wish someone would tell me why Our Leaders in Washington are not making the most of our own natural resources and good ol' Yankee Ingenuity and capitalize on what apparently is the greatest cash crops in the world, Marijuana.Fiscal Cliff indeed!
There I said it. Now you must understand that is not coming from someone who lives in Washington State where they have taken steps to decriminalize a plant that grows like a weed, has so many useful purposes industrially as well as medicinally, was grown or used by all of our country's Forefathers and can be harvested anywhere cept' where ice covers the ground. And even there it can be grown indoors. Fiscal cliff ?? It just doesn't make any sense (I'm talking as an outsider looking in) that we are not taking advantage of the opportunities to put people to work,plant farms where there is just nothing productive happening on the land, and get out of debt. Isn't that awesome!!! Now the guy with the farm who was hiring out to roving bands of "Trimmers" whenever it was time to reap, trim and manicure his product, has now given way to the "horseless carriage" of his industry. I'm all for making a buck, but I'm more for "share the wealth". Those roving bands of "Trimmers"need work too!
Fiscal Cliff
Can you imagine the suit's and ties on Capitol Hill who refuse to work with another American because he isn't as greedy as him or a number of other labels we can toss around and no matter which one I choose, I will still be politicly incorrect, getting together to put this pot deal into action. Not like they screwed up Prohibition ! But like they built Apple Computers or Apple Corps but that's another topic. We are still a few years away I guess from people born the late 50's or 60's take power in...oh wait they are there now! The problem is now their egos and affiliations change and it's more about personal growth and wealth even though the idea of Public Service ie...Serving the Public became not so important. Come on guys this isn't for me this is for my grandkids who I don't want growing up in a world of corruption and greed. I mean what's the worse that could happen? The Marijuana industry will turn into the tobacco industry?? or or or maybe the distilled spirits industry???? or or or I got one even better the pharmaceutical industry.... Marijuana has way more uses than just getting you stoned. I mean the Declaration of Independence was written on it.Please watch the above video and let's hash this out and discuss this.
Let's face it, there are bigger factors involved here and why the truth has to be just put on the back burner. I really thought that President Clinton who never inhaled or President Bush jr who might have inhaled to President Obama who ... well what is the real truth to why a product that grows like a weed,has so many uses and has never killed a person using it but many have died protecting the people who have profited from it's growth and sales. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TRAFFIC
Whether you choose to become involved in a MLM or affiliate marketing, there is one facet to becoming successful online that is more important than anything else in the networking arena and that is TRAFFIC! If there’s one thing you take from this book, it needs to be this simple truth; Traffic + Good Opportunity = $ !!! No Traffic + Good Opportunity = No $! There is just no way around it. If you master how to drive traffic, you will succeed. If you do not, you will fail. Simple as that. When you embark on your journey of “Internet Marketing” you must fully understand that your number one goal is to drive traffic to your opportunity. There is NOTHING more result producing than this, and NOTHING will break your spirit faster than not having it. The reasons are obvious. Traffic means prospects, and prospects mean leads, and leads means sales and or business associates and that equals $$$. So let us get right to it. Let’s look into the deep, vast realm of Internet traffic, and how to drive some of it straight to your opportunity. We’ll start with social media:GETTING TRAFFIC ON FACEBOOK
Since the invention of Facebook the world has changed, especially the world of “Internet Marketing”. Thanks to the inventors of this social network, it is now possible to post your opportunity on your “Wall” with either a link, or an enticing ad copy, and attract untold numbers of prospects with a click of a mouse. Do not underestimate the power of this market place, for it stretches across the world and commands an unbelievably MASSIVE audience, one in which you can tap into within seconds! Where else can you have access to over 600 million people, with millions of possible prospects? It is a very exciting platform and it’s all FREE! As mentioned, you can post your opportunity on your wall, and on your friends walls, and in designated groups relevant to your niche. For example, if you are promoting a weight loss product, you would join specific groups on Facebook relevant to that product, and promote it to them as well.The only thing you should realize is that you have to be considerate when marketing on FB and here’s why: It is easy to spam there (or at least what the administrator’s consider spamming) and they do NOT put up with it. It’s understandable, no one likes to check their mailbox and find a flood of gibberish and sales pitches, which is what happens far too often on Facebook. Eventually, their site filters will detect if you are spamming, and your account will be suspended. So, how do you go about promoting your opportunity without spamming? Simple: Number one thing is to post your opportunity in the manner described above, and when posting to YOUR wall, you want to post it between 3 and 4 hours apart (only post once a day in groups, and only once a week or more on your friends walls). Now, I know some of you reading this are saying to yourself; “Three or four hours apart? I work for a living. I don’t have time to do that!” Not to worry, there is FREE software that you can program to post your ads for you. Personally, my favorite is “Hootsuite”. This program is super user-friendly and lets you post to Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Buzz, Chatter and more -simultaneously, or separately if you chose. Type in your ad, schedule it to run every 3 to 4 hours, and you’re done. You can be advertising in your sleep! Pingler.com ,Same deal there; 24/7 advertising! Yet another is “Ping.fm”. Any one of these programs will help you stay on a consistent marketing schedule while you are busy living your life. One bit of advice I would like to admonish when promoting on FB; don’t send to other people’s inboxes (although it is quite common a practice by many).
Unsolicited emails is “spam” in its purest form, and chances are, many recipients will mark it as such. As a whole, it is repelling, and counter productive. You’ll be wasting your time, and getting a lot of people very unhappy with you. Remember, many people on Facebook are there for the social experience, and while it has never made much sense to me to take a picture of what I’m eating for dinner and post it as my status, many people do just that. They are not interested in business opportunities, all they want to do is play on their virtual farms, and tell their friends what color socks they are wearing. That is their choice, and it should be respected. One very effective trick when promoting on Facebook is add likeminded people into your network of friends. Think of your friends list as your marketing base; it is where your prospects and potential customers will come from. It is easy to spam there (or at least what the administrator’s consider spamming) and they do NOT put up with it. It’s understandable, no one likes to check their mailbox and find a flood of gibberish and sales pitches, which is what happens far too often on Facebook. Now, here’s a challenge when promoting on Facebook; if you only have 50 friends on your list, then you won’t get much exposure. Remember, it is a numbers game. You need to add friends daily, but here you must use caution. A year ago you could add 100 friends a day and never worry about being stopped, but in the ever changing “Zuckerberg world”, they’ve lowered that number dramatically. Now you can send out about 10 to 20 a day (maybe a couple dozen more if you do it at a snail’s pace). Regardless of the tedious nature of building your list, you need to be consistent. Set a goal everyday to add friends (people) to your list. Tomorrow, we'll tell you how to do it!
