GEORGE HARRISON 1943-2001

As Beatle fans get ready to mark two dates that are always very difficult, we must remember to celebrate their lives, the music and the love they gave us so freely. That can NEVER be taken away from us! Today November 29, 2012 marks 11 years since we lost George Harrison to cancer and 32 years on December 8 since John Lennon was assassinated. I know many people gave up smoking after George died. For those that haven't quit yet, think about George and throw those packs of killers in the trash for good!

If anybody was ever prepared for their ultimate demise, it was George Harrison.

John was cut down by a lunatic after a troubled time and a renewed vigor, vision and #1 album.
George wrote about it

'All Those Years Ago'

I'm shouting all about love

While they treated you like a dog

When you were the one who had made it

So clear

All those years ago.

I'm talking all about how to give

They dont act with much honesty

But you point the way to the truth when you say

All you need is love.

Living with good and bad

I always look up to you

Now we're left cold and sad

By someone the devils best friend

Someone who offended all.

We're living in a bad dream

They've forgotten all about mankind

And you were the one they backed up to

The wall

All those years ago

You were the one who imagined it all
All those years ago.

Deep in the darkest night

I send out a prayer to you

Now in the world of light

Where the spirit free of the lies

And all else that we despised.

They've forgotten all about God

He's the only reason we exist

Yet you were the one that they said was

So weird

All those years ago

You said it all though not many had ears
All those years ago
You had control of our smiles and our tears
All those years ago

From the "Somewhere In England" Album (1981)

George's life was cut short by the horrors of cancer, most likely caused by those terrible cigarettes that he started smoking at the age of 14 to fit in with the older kids who were so impressed by his guitar playing, that Paul McCartney introduced him to John and he asked him to join his band. Not bad for a fourteen year old guitar picker who loved Carl Perkins and Chet Atkins. He became the lead guitar player for the most famous band in the world.
Young George Harrison

If anybody ever spent their life getting ready for the afterlife, it was George.
"All Things Must Pass"

Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day
Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this, my love is up and must be leaving
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So, I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night-time
In the morning it will fade away
Daylight is good at arriving at the right time
It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away

The Beatle Days

George's songs were largely overshadowed by the Lennon/McCartney song writing machine in the early days of the Beatles. They even let George sing a few of their songs on the albums 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' was probably the most famous.

Songs sung by George with the Beatles including performances from the Beatles anthology:
All Things Must Pass Blue Jay Way Crying Waiting Hoping Do You Want To Know A Secret Don't Bother Me Don't Ever Change Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby For You Blue Glad All Over Here Comes The Sun I Forgot To Remember To Forget I Got A Woman I Me Mine I Need You I Want To Tell You If I Needed Someone I'm Happy Just To Dance With You It's All Too Much Long Long Long Love You To Not Guilty Nothin' Shakin' Old Brown Shoe Only A Northern Song Piggies Roll Over Beethoven Savoy Truffle So How Come (No One Loves Me) Something Take Good Care Of My Baby Taxman The Inner Light The Sheik Of Araby Think For Yourself Three Cool Cats While My Guitar Gently Weeps Within You Without You You Know What To Do You Like Me Too Much Young Blood

George wrote about love and life and all the things that were happening in his life. Here are the songs he wrote that were included on Beatles albums

  • "Don't Bother Me" from With the Beatles (1963).
  • "I Need You" and "You Like Me Too Much" from Help! (1965).
  • "Think for Yourself" and "If I Needed Someone" from Rubber Soul (1965).
  • "Taxman," "Love You To" and "I Want to Tell You" from Revolver (1966).
  • "Within You Without You" from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967).
  • "Blue Jay Way" from Magical Mystery Tour (1967).
  • "The Inner Light" (B-side to the single "Lady Madonna") (1968).
  • "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Piggies," "Long, Long, Long" and "Savoy Truffle" from The Beatles(1968).
  • "Only a Northern Song" and "It's All Too Much" from Yellow Submarine (1968).
  • "Old Brown Shoe" (B-side to the single "The Ballad of John and Yoko") (1969).
  • "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" from Abbey Road (1969).
  • "I Me Mine" and "For You Blue" from Let It Be (1970).
  • His first wife Pattie who he met on the set of the Beatles first movie 'Hard Day's Night' was the inspiration for quite a few songs as well as being the "Layla" Eric Clapton wrote about after she broke up with George to be with Eric.

George always got along with Eric even after the famous break up of George's marriage. Eric was instrumental in putting together "The Concert For George" with George's widow Olivia and son Dhani performed by an amazing cast of George's friends including Ringo Starr & Paul McCartney as well as a tribute put together by George's close friend and sitar teacher/advisor, Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka Shankar. It is well known that George was fascinated with the sitar and the sounds and teachings he discovered when the Beatles visited India in 1968 to learn about Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which inspired George,Paul and John to write a number of songs. Ringo even wrote one song while there but was sick due to the inoculations required to travel to India at the time and left earlier than the others.
The Beatles first trip to India was in 1966 meant as a stop over for a little R&R after the debacle in the Philippines

George loved to laugh and was a huge fan of Monty Python.

    The Pirate Song
In the mid 1970's Eric Idle created the Beatles parody band called the Rutles which led to the Rutland Weekend Television show where George played Pirate Bob.This led to the cult mockumentary 'All You Need is Cash'

HandMade Films was formed by former Beatle George Harrison and business partner Denis O'Brien in 1978 to finance the Monty Python film Life of Brian. When the original financiers of Brian, EMI Films, pulled out the creators had to find other financing. When asked why he wanted to finance the film, Harrison remarked that he wanted to see the movie. To which Terry Jones commented, "that must be the most expensive movie ticket in history." Harrison, a friend and fan of the Pythons, mortgaged his home in order to finance the feature. The first film started under the company was 1981's Time Bandits, still one of my personal favorite films. The company continued to produce films through the 1980s.

In 2002, four of the surviving members, bar Cleese, performed "The Lumberjack Song" and "Sit on My Face" for George Harrison's memorial concert. The reunion also included regular supporting contributors Neil Innes and Carol Cleveland, with a special appearance from Tom Hanks.

    The Lumberjack Song

George was a pioneer in many ways. All Things Must Pass is a triple album by George Harrison. Recorded and released in 1970, the album was Harrison's first solo work since the break-up of The Beatles in April that year. The original vinyl release featured two LPs of rock songs as well as Apple Jam, a third disc of informal jams. Often credited as rock's first triple album, it was in fact the first by a single act, the multi-artist Woodstock live set having preceded it by six months.

In regards to the album's size, Harrison stated: "I didn't have many tunes on Beatles records, so doing an album like All Things Must Pass was like going to the bathroom and letting it out."

The album was critically acclaimed and, with long stays at number 1 in both the US and the UK, commercially successful. It was certified 6x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2001 With Harrison's supervision, a remastered edition of the album was released in January 2001, less than a year before his death. It featured revised artwork and contained bonus tracks, including an unreleased song ("I Live For You") as well as a partially re-recorded version of "My Sweet Lord". The reissue debuted at number 4 on US Billboard's Pop Catalog Chart, and also charted at number 46 in Japan, 68 in France, and 68 in the United Kingdom. In 2009, it re-entered and peaked at number 3 on the US Catalog chart, following the release of his posthumous compilation album Let It Roll.
For the 40th anniversary of All Things Must Pass, in November 2010, the album was reissued in a box set of three vinyl LPs as part of Record Store Day Black Friday 2010. Simultaneously, a digitally remastered version of the album was made available for download from Harrison's official website.

    The Concert for Bangladesh

George also co-organized the 1st ever benefit concert "The Concert for Bangladesh" with his friend Ravi Shankar to raise international awareness and fund relief efforts following the civil war atrocities and the devastating in the Eastern area of Pakistan after a cyclone damaged the country in 1970. George performed for the first time alone and recruited a supergroup of musicians to perform with him including Eric Clapton (who was suffering with his own addiction to heroin at the time),Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Leon Russell, the band Badfinger, Peter Frampton, Billy Preston and others. George also was the Master of Ceremonies for the show, even though he was often referred to as "the quiet Beatle". The concerts (2:30 PM & 8:00 PM) were held in Madison Square Garden August 1,1971 to an audience of 20000 for each performance. The resulting album was also a triple album that won the Grammy for Album of the year in 1973. It was initially issued on CD on  July 30,1991 in America and August 19, in Britain with significant editing of the breaks between songs. The Concert for Bangladesh was remastered and re-released on October 24, 2005, now with the addition of Dylan's afternoon-show performance of "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" as a bonus track. At the same time, the 1972 Apple film of the concert was released on DVD. Sales of the remastered album and DVD continue to benefit the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF.

    UNICEF Month of Giving
Many of you may remember in school we would get the UNICEF boxes in the and go door to door to raise funds.

George was very prominent in working with Paul and Ringo to produce the Beatles Anthology CD's & DVD's and helped put together John Lennon's previously unreleased song "Free as a  Bird" & "Real Love"

George also formed another Supergroup  in 1988 with Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and Jim Keltner. They called themselves "The Traveling Wilburys"

    Handle With Care

Martin Scorsese has made a documentary film on George's life

along with the book of the same name written by Olivia Harrison who reveals the arc of George's life, from the guitar-obsessed youth growing up in Liverpool to the astonishment of being the lead guitar player of the most famous band in the world, to his days as an independent musician, producer, philanthropist, Grammy winner, and member of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

While Paul McCartney's "Yesterday" may be the most recorded song ever, George Harrison's "Something" will always be known as the 2nd most covered song but more importantly, "The Best Love Song Ever Written"

    "Something"

Something in the way she moves

Attracts me like no other lover

Something in the way she woos me

I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

You're asking me will my love grow
    I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
    I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

I could write a commentary on all 180+ songs written by George, I didn't even mention the Sue Me Sue You Blues, This Song, Here Comes The Sun, You,Can't Stop Thinking About You,Not Guilty, Here Comes The Moon,Faster,Cloud Nine,Devil's Radio but that is not why I am writing today. I simply want to honor his memory AND his greatest gift to the world, his music and his love of his Higher Power

    THANK YOU GEORGE

I AM A BETTER PERSON BECAUSE OF YOU I KNOW WHERE I"M GOING

I've been traveling on a wing and a prayer
By the skin of my teeth, by the breadth of a hair
Traveling where the four winds blow
With the sun on my face, in the ice and the snow

    But oooeeee it's a game
Sometimes you're cool, sometimes you're lame
    Ah yeah it's somewhere
And if you don't know where you're going
Any road will take you there

But oh Lord we pay the price
With the spin of the wheel with the roll of the dice
Ah yeah you pay your fare
And if you don't know where you're going
Any road will take you there

I keep traveling around the bend
There was no beginning, there is no end
It wasn't born and never dies
There are no edges, there is no sides

Oh yeah you just don't win
It's so far out, the way out is in
Bow to God and call him Sir
But if you don't know where you're going
Any road will take you there

    E-Book Writing, Publishing & Selling

     E-Books Basics

Why in the world would anyone want to write an e-book was the question that I was asked at a snooty party after the Dolphins game this past Sunday. Well it doesn't take much to get me started so I told everyone in the suite that "writing e-books is the greatest opportunity for anyone who has wanted to write the next great biopic or the steamiest romance novel, to live out their dreams or seek fame and fortune by writing an e-book". Make money ? writing an e-book?? surely you jest?? Whether you are interested in fact or fiction, the story of Andrew Carnegie or the workings of a Benelli Super Black Eagle II, an experienced writer or a journalism freshman in college, you can make money writing an e-book. The popularity of the iPad, the Kindle and the Nook as well as all of the smart phone apps has caused a resurgence to the literary world as we know it. There is now a whole new range of opportunities to writers who never thought they could ever become a published author. Back in the old days a writer could struggle along for months putting on paper their thoughts and dreams only to be rejected from some cigar smoking bully who thought he knew what the whole world wanted to read about. Some writers who were lucky enough to finance their own publishing efforts, were left with cheap looking efforts which left them disillusioned with the whole industry.

The ebook reader, such as the Nook or Kindle, has revolutionised the publishing world, empowering and enriching writers in the process. Anyone with the gumption to put their ideas out there for the world to see has an immediate market to share their ideas with. There are now an estimated 750,000 authors e-publishing worldwide.  There are around 680,000 titles for sale on the Kindle store alone with another one million + free titles available for download. You are just a few clicks away from a Google search to find out how easy it is to publish your own ebook online. What do you need to know? What does it involve? And how much money can you make?

    Starting An e-Book

Publishing your e-book has gotten simple but actually writing your e-book has not. You can compare writing an ebook to running a marathon. Anyone that finishes a marathon deserves credit, it is still hard work after all. But just because you have run a marathon, doesn’t mean you should be running in the Olympics any time soon. As a matter of fact the big problem with e-publishing is that the vast majority of books that are being self-published are terrible! They are poorly written, woefully edited, badly formatted, etc. Many people rush to get their work published online, but this is the problem. A badly written book isn’t going to sell, no matter how cheap it is! Very few writers profit on their first book, usually the fourth or fifth if you keep at it. But if you do keep at it you will stumble upon some important discoveries, about yourself as well as about the wonderful world of e-books.

    E-book Plan of Attack

I learned a long time ago, whether you are playing chess or trading options, that you need to plan your work then work your plan. It is good to be passionate about whatever you do   but you would be wise to use something that you have already written then expand and edit it accordingly. Some of us bloggers take a particularly good blog and then dig a little bit deeper. Keep in mind that people who read on the the internet are sometimes distracted or unfocused so if your e-book is a bit long if not otherwise exciting reading, you may lose some people with limited attention spans. [caption id="attachment_110" align="aligncenter" width="275" caption="E-book writer"][/caption]   The whole e-book market is rapidly evolving, and a lot of self-publishing companies are offering e-book deals bundled into their print book publishing packages, which makes them harder to break out and evaluate. It's all quite complicated, and in an effort to sort through the confusion, I've decided to offer a few basic tips and present what I think are some of the best options out there for creating an e-book quickly and easily.

    E-Book Tips:

    • It's gotta be good: The same rule applies to self-published e-books as it does to print books. You have to start with a good product if you have any hope of selling it.
    • Create an arresting cover: When it comes to e-books, everything starts with the cover image. Creating an eye-catching, professional-looking cover that also looks good small (it has to stand out as a thumbnail image, since it's being sold online) is easier said than done, but it can really make a difference in terms of sales. Ideally, you should hire a graphic designer who has some experience creating book covers. From a production standpoint, an e-book cover is easier to create than a cover for a print book (you just need a JPEG with decent resolution), but it shouldn't look out of place among traditionally published e-books. I can't tell you how many bad self-published covers are out there.
    • If you need any art I recommend www.portraitdrawing.com  or www.nannankennedy.com Nancy has an awlul lot of experience with drawings and illustrations for books and covers. You'll be amazed with her work.
    • Price your e-book cheaply: You should sell your e-book for $5.99 or less. According to research done by Smashwords, an online e-book publishing and distribution platform for authors, publishers, agents, and readers, $2.99 to $5.99 yields the most profit for self-published authors, and although @ 99 cents will get you more downloads, it's a poor price point for earning income  On the other hand, Lulu, one of the bigger online self-publishing operations, says that authors who price their e-books in the 99-cent to $2.99 range "sell more units and earn more revenue than those in any other price range."
    • It's important to note that Amazon's 70 percent royalty for authors only applies to Kindle books priced between $2.99 and $9.99; otherwise, the rate kicks down to 35 percent). As for going free, well, Smashword data indicates that free e-books get about 100 times more downloads than priced e-books.Wonder why????
    • Avoid any outfits that don't let you set the price: This is one of the cardinal rules of self-publishing an e-book. You must be able to control the pricing of your e-book. If you want to sell it for 99 cents, then you should be able to sell it for 99 cents.
    • Marketing is all about creating awareness for your e-book: I don't have any secret marketing tips to offer, but what I can say is that you can't sell a book if no one knows it exists. Most of book marketing is simply about creating awareness and you need to do that however you can, whether it's through social media or blogging or passing out fliers on a street corner. You can make a business card for your book, and pass it out if someone seems interested in hearing more about it.
E-book publishing options: Here are the three big questions to bear in mind with e-book creation: First, what is the easiest and most cost-efficient way to produce an e-book? Second, where will it be distributed? Third, how much of a cut do you get? How to Sell Free eBooks on eBay for Profit First you will need an eBay account to sell from. An eBay membership is completely free, all you need is a PayPal account. Once you have en eBay account and you are ready to sell your e-book. Some people even supplement their income by selling other peoples e-books. You can either buy eBooks online with master resell rights, or some places have eBooks that are completely free with resell rights. The hard part is actually finding them online. List the item as an information product. You will have to pay a listing fee but you can make up for that in the cost of shipping. Include in the body of the eBay listing that you will email the eBook to the customer once the payment has been made. This will save you money in shipping costs but can pose issues if the file doesn't make it to the customer. Always take good care of your customers and request feedback from them. When other people see the eBook listings and all the great things people have said about them, you will sell more. Miranda Brookins has written another tutorial on selling e-books HERE
If you are interested in making a substantial income online without having to write, publish & market e-books we have the straight skinny on making real money online with your own business. Maybe you are good at marketing e-books or anything else, maybe you like to write  (you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't), making you just want to make $200 to $2000 a day from home?

    Peyton Manning,Champion

    Peyton Manning, a Champions Champion

I will never forget Peyton Manning’s first game as a professional member of the Indianapolis Colts. I was a Diehard Dan Marino fan and looked forward all pre-season long for opening day Sunday, September 6,  that day Peyton Manning hit Marvin Harrison in the right corner of the end zone in the final minute against the Miami Dolphins in the opening week of the 1998 season for his first touchdown pass. Some 420+ touchdowns later, he's still going strong.

    Peyton Manning Colts QB
Manning finished that first game 21-of-37 for 302 yards accentuating a one-touchdown, three-pick day. He was going up against a master in Dan Marino with a club that was simply outmatched. The Colts didn't have the talent to hang with the playoff-bound Dolphins. Manning kept the Colts close for a while, but a pick-six in the fourth quarter put the team down 15 points. Manning was sacked four times behind an Colts line that would take half a season to gel. Manning's final throw of the day was both cosmetic and historic. It changed nothing, but it signified that everything had changed.

In his rookie season, he passed for 3,739 yards with 26 touchdowns, set five different NFL rookie records, including most touchdown passes in a season, and was named to the NFL All-Rookie First Team.[Manning's first win came against fellow rookie quarterback Ryan Leaf, 17–12 over the Chargers. Weeks later, Manning faced off against San Francisco 49’ers star QB, Steve Young he threw three touchdowns, tying a Colts rookie record, but the 49ers kicked a late field goal to win 34–31 In November against the N.Y. Jets, Manning threw for three touchdowns in a 24–23 win; he was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for this performance. It was the first game-winning drive of Manning's career, as he hit Marcus Pollard with the game-winning TD pass. Manning was certainly a bright spot in 1998 for the Colts, but he also threw a league high 28 interceptions as the team struggled to a 3–13 record with a defense that gave up more than 27 points per game. The Colts lost many close games, including five games in which they had led by double-digits at some point.

Colts release Peyton Manning as Indianapolis Colts Quarterback in March 7, 2012 after 14 seasons.

Peyton Manning released by Colts owner Isray
After a May 23 neck surgery, Manning could not use the Colts' facilities for practice and workouts due to the NFL lockout. He was so reluctant to have witnesses to his recovery that he used the Colorado Rockies baseball team's trainers at Coors Field in Denver. Manning was unable to complete his throwing motion, and his arm strength was so poor that he was compared to Chad Pennington. Based on an MRI, doctors told him in the late summer that he needed spinal fusion surgery and that at his age they could not guarantee his return to the NFL.[167] On September 7 the Colts officially ruled Manning out for the season opener against Houston, ending his consecutive starts streak of 208 games (227 including playoffs); the team signed Kerry Collins out of retirement and named him interim starting quarterback.[168] After seeking other opinions, Manning had the second surgery on September 8.

"To me, he's the greatest of all time. He's a friend of mine, and someone that I always watch and admire, because he always wants to improve, he always wants to get better, and he doesn't settle for anything less than the best. So, when you watch the best and you're able to learn from the best, hopefully that helps me get better."
    Tom Brady, on Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning & Tom Brady after a game

Manning stated that while he did intend to play during the 2011 season, he would not "fight" the front office to stay off injured reserve if his roster spot was needed. Manning started practicing throwing footballs again in mid-December, with teammate Joseph Addai  even claiming his passes looked "game ready.Ultimately, Manning did not play a single game in 2011, and the Colts went 2–14 without him, only the second season since Manning was a rookie that the Colts did not win at least 10 games.

Manning was released by the Colts on March 7, 2012.Upon his release, Colts owner Jim Irsay announced that no Colt will ever wear the #18 jersey again, though it is not being officially retired at this time.

    Peyton Manning and John Elway
After a crazy 2 week tour of prospective teams  from the San Francisco 49ers to the Tennessee Titans (who were offering a blank check to the University of Tennessee  all-time leading passer with 11,201 yards and 89 touchdowns and winner of 39 of the 45 games he started, 4 of those losses to the University of Florida) interviewing and working out for the Miami Dolphins and the Denver Broncos, Peyton had to make a decision if and where to continue his assault on the NFL passing records. Then on March 20, 2012, 13 days after being released by the Colts, Peyton reached an agreement with Broncos GM John Elway and owner Pat Bowlen on a five year contract worth 96 million dollars. Everyone in Denver was elated by this news that although #18 is retired in honor of Frank Tripucka, he gave Manning permission to wear it. Everyone except Denver’s first round draft pick in 2010 Tim Tebow who On July 29 2010 signed a five-year contract with the Broncos that had a base value of $11.25 million with a possibility of 33 million with incentives. The contract also included $8.7 million guaranteed money for the passionate quarterback from Peyton’s nemesis, the University of Florida where Tebow led the Gators to 2 SEC championships (2006,2008) as well as 2 National Championships (2007,2009). Incidently, Tebow made his SEC debut against the Tennessee Volunteers on September 16, 2006 His performance included a ten-yard run on his first carry and converting a critical fourth down near the end of the game, which led to the Gators' go-ahead touchdown, But today we are talking about Peyton Manning.

    Peyton Manning silences the critics.

    Peyton Manning Broncos QB
Yesterday November 18, 2012, Peyton Manning moved to second on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list during the second quarter of the Denver Broncos' 30-23 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
Manning surpassed former Miami Dolphins great Dan Marino on the all-time list with the 421st touchdown pass of his career -- a 13-yard strike to Demaryius  Thomas in the back of the end zone. Manning finished the game completing 25 of 42 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns. Brett Favre’s 497 TD’s are Peyton’s next challenge but as tough as he is and at only 35 years old it seems very possible. By next season he ought to surpass Marino’s 61,361 passing yards for second place on the All Time List with Favre’s 71,838 not too far away as well. But Peyton’s ultimate goal is to lead the Bronco’s to another Super Bowl Championship which in 2006 Manning led the Colts to a 29–17 victory over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI and was voted Super Bowl MVP.

Manning, who had been criticized for failing to win big games, exorcised his big-game demons with the win. "In years' past when our team's come up short, it's been disappointing", he told reporters. "Somehow we found a way to have learned from some of those losses and we've been a better team because of it." For his role in the Colts' championship run, Manning was awarded the ESPY for Best Championship Performance.
He led the 2009 Colts to his second Super Bowl appearance ultimately won by Drew Brees and  the New Orleans Saints , but again, today we are talking about Peyton Manning, a true champion! I could fill up the page with all of Peyton’s highlights and awards but what strikes me the most is that Peyton Manning is a true Champion today because of his persistence, his hard work and continuous regimen of practice striving for his ultimate goal of perfection. Try telling him that perfection is unobtainable and he will work harder. He is a relentless field general that changes plays in a split second after reading the defensive alignments and he has silenced all the critics that said he would never come back from the neck surgeries that sidelined him and caused the Indianapolis Colts to have the worst record in football after the 2011 season without him. With the first pick of the 2012 draft the Colts selected Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck after Mr. Isray decided that Peyton was done.
Never count out Peyton Manning! He is a warrior who continues to strive in the face of any and all adversities. Peyton is one of my role models because he is a winner, not a whiner!
